Scenes from a Seattle homeless encampment are so disturbing that they became a trending topic on social media.<\/p>\n

A homeless site in South Seattle has reportedly grown since mid-2025 across public and private land, raising serious environmental and safety concerns.<\/p>\n

Residents reportedly had welcomed a \u201ctiny homes\u201d site meant to house the homeless, with a promise from the city that encampments wouldn\u2019t be allowed nearby. In April, residents were complaining that the city wasn\u2019t keeping its word.<\/p>\n

Fast forward to today, the encampment area is larger, with seemingly no real plan to end the expansion.<\/p>\n

Jeremy Harris with KOMO News reported on the \u201chumanitarian and environmental disaster,\u201d saying the city plans to \u201cmonitor and watch\u201d the situation.<\/p>\n

A humanitarian and environmental disaster is unfolding at this encampment in south Seattle. The camp has grown across multiple properties and trees are now being cleared to expand it further.<\/p>\n

Harris\u2019 report drew plenty of attention on X, where former LA Mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt called it Communism. \u201cCommunism is like a societal cancer. It just keeps spreading until it becomes impossible to remove, and it always ends the same way,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Just a reminder that every single item you see in that camp was stolen from tax payers \u2013 either directly through theft\/burglary \u2013 or indirectly through \u201csocial services\u201d<\/p>\n

Adding insult to injury, Mary Katharine Ham astutely pointed out that Seattle has a strict tree code that prohibits folks from cutting down trees without approval from proper authorities\u2026and insurance.<\/p>\n

The code doesn\u2019t appear to be enforced in the expanding homeless encampment.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s \u201ctyranny against the law abiding\u201d\u2026every code is enforced, every penalty is applied, every tax is collected but there are NO rules enforced against the homeless or \u201cChaz Zone\u201d people.<\/p>\n

That code only applies to law abiding citizens. The ones that pay taxes, traffic tickets, permit fees, and obey zoning laws. You know the ones the city taxes the crap out of to support the encampments freeloaders.<\/p>\n
