This puts the US economy ahead of the rest of the world based on survey data&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/2026-09-03_06-53-35.jpg?itok=-IyjIjEz\" data-link-option=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/2026-09-03_06-53-35.jpg?itok=-IyjIjEz\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"1fbdd1ae-af61-456a-adda-178c94eebdcb\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" height=\"297\" width=\"500\" class=\"inline-images image-style-inline-images\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/2026-09-03_06-53-35.jpg?itok=-IyjIjEz\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cBusiness activity growth across the private sector accelerated in August, marking a clear shift in gear for the US economy,&#8221;<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pmi.spglobal.com\/Public\/Home\/PressRelease\/851836381ace416982e3230c80ebfc64\">said\u00a0Usamah Bhatti, Economist at S&amp;P Global Market Intelligence.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Survey data now point to GDP growing at an annualized rate of 3.0% in the third quarter,<\/strong> up solidly from the meagre 1.5% recorded in the previous quarter&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/2026-09-03_06-50-54.jpg?itok=oUeZPxv-\" data-link-option=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/2026-09-03_06-50-54.jpg?itok=oUeZPxv-\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"03daa8d7-e51f-42a9-99d1-583fffe13df2\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" height=\"316\" width=\"500\" class=\"inline-images image-style-inline-images\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/2026-09-03_06-50-54.jpg?itok=oUeZPxv-\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Alongside a renewed improvement in new business intakes, <strong>growth appears likely to continue at least in the near term<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>\u201cThere was also <strong>a welcome acceleration in jobs growth during August<\/strong>, with employers becoming more confident across both the manufacturing and service sectors. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Job creation was commonly linked to efforts to keep pace with demand requirements, but also to<strong> prepare for future growth as concerns regarding the conflict in the Middle East started to fade<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>That said, Bhatti points out that &#8220;<strong>supply delays remained elevated, notably for manufacturers<\/strong>, while aggregate <strong>price pressures also stayed above their historical average.<\/strong>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p><a data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/2026-09-03_07-02-51.jpg?itok=km3z2Ukk\" data-link-option=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/2026-09-03_07-02-51.jpg?itok=km3z2Ukk\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"d747b444-0615-40d4-9f64-0ed6fff6a028\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" height=\"295\" width=\"500\" class=\"inline-images image-style-inline-images\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/2026-09-03_07-02-51.jpg?itok=km3z2Ukk\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Growth momentum appears to have shifted from manufacturing to services,<\/strong> with the latter seeing the pace of expansion surge to the highest since the end of 2024.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>&#8220;Manufacturing growth, meanwhile, was unchanged as both output and new orders rose at weaker rates.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Is strong growth and elevated prices enough to trigger Warsh to pull the trigger in two weeks?
