The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) strongly denied a New York Times report<\/a> alleging that illegal aliens suffered cruelty and abuse at detention facilities and during their deportation.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, the paper published a story featuring quotes from ten Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainees who claim that they were subjected to inhumane treatment bordering on torture during their time in custody.<\/p>\n

According to one of the Times sources, 49-year-old Cuban Leonardo S\u00e1nchez, the cuffs that he was forced to wear during a deportation flight to West Africa aggravated a medical condition from old injuries and surgeries.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was in pain, crying like a little kid,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut the agents wouldn\u2019t remove his chains or let him use the toilet, he and other detainees said. He wet himself,\u201d the Times reported of the flight on which S\u00e1nchez and almost two dozen other illegals were passengers as they were relocated from the United States.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen some protested, they were beaten by agents, five of the deportees said. Some were slammed to the ground or struck with blows, several said. One showed cuts along his wrists and bruises around his neck, which he said he received after resisting getting on the plane. Another said some deportees were left screaming in pain,\u201d according to the paper.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey didn\u2019t treat us like people, like human beings,\u201d Venezuelan national Carlos T\u00e9llez-Sanchez told the Times. \u201cThey can say or do anything to you and there\u2019s nothing you can do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Others quoted in the Times story alleged that they were forced to undergo \u201cpsychological torture\u201d and were held in deplorable conditions at one domestic facility, including being stuffed into a \u201cpainfully cold room\u201d without beds that they dubbed \u201cthe freezer.\u201d<\/p>\n

DHS rejected the Times\u2019 report as \u201cGARBAGE\u201d in a scathing post to X on Sunday.<\/p>\n

\u201cMake no mistake: this type of GARBAGE being peddled by the media is fueling the more than 1,300% increase in assaults against our officers, who put their lives on the line every day to arrest violent criminal illegal aliens and protect the lives of American citizens,\u201d the DHS post read.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile parts of the deportees\u2019 accounts could not be independently verified, The Times was able to confirm certain details with lawyers and government officials,\u201d the paper noted in its story, a CYA statement.<\/p>\n

The \u201cGARBAGE\u201d report about alleged ICE mistreatment of detainees comes after President Donald J. Trump took a flamethrower to ace reporter \u201cMaggot Hagerman\u201d over her bombshell that he was skipping the 25th anniversary of the 9\/11 attacks at Ground Zero because he wasn\u2019t allowed to make a speech.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaggot Hagerman is a PHONY, and The New York Times knows it!\u201d Trump said in a Friday Truth Social post<\/a>, adding. \u201cShe\u2019s been falsely writing about me for years \u2014 She\u2019s a stalker, and should be forced to turn over any and all money that she\u2019s made through her fake reporting on me.\u201d<\/p>\n
