This week has shown that the Democratic Party’s alliance with Hasan Piker, the hard-left Twitch streamer, has caused them serious trouble. Top party officials are now distancing themselves from Piker, who has openly advocated for violence against capitalists and suggested that Jewish Americans are inviting violence on themselves.<\/p>\n

Piker, a self-described democratic socialist and a prominent Democratic Socialists of America media surrogate, triggered a flurry of condemnations this week after saying on his stream: “If Jews in America keep putting this idea out there that they are singularly invested in Israel, eventually someone is going to come around and take action \u2014 not against the state of Israel, mind you, but against American Jews.”<\/p>\n

Senior Democrats were quick to respond. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries appeared on CNN to condemn Piker by name, calling his remarks “wrong, dangerous, and antisemitic.” Sen. Cory Booker echoed that language. Sen. Elissa Slotkin, Sen. Jacky Rosen, Rep. Josh Gottheimer, Rep. Ritchie Torres, Rep. Jared Moskowitz, and several others followed within hours.<\/p>\n

“We will fight the cancer of antisemitism with the fierce urgency of now,” Jeffries posted. Torres was direct: “There is absolutely no justification for antisemitism. There never has been and there never will be. No amount of victim-blaming or gaslighting by Hasan Piker can shift moral responsibility away from where it belongs.” Rosen said Piker had been “trafficking in antisemitic tropes for a while” and called his latest remarks “a new low.”<\/p>\n

Piker claimed AIPAC was to blame. “The AIPAC boss call was made. They are unanimous in their hatred of me, and I welcome their hatred,” he posted on X. In a predictable deflection, he suggested his critics tally up their AIPAC donations \u2014 implying a foreign lobbying conspiracy.<\/p>\n

The coordinated Democratic response suggests party strategists are seeing internal polling data showing that ties to the DSA and the Piker orbit are “politically toxic beyond the progressive base” and could become a serious liability in general elections, according to ZeroHedge.<\/p>\n

This is not the first time Piker’s radicalism has burst into public view. He has made graphic calls for street violence against capitalists, campaigned alongside Democratic candidates, mapped an alleged radical-left NGO network linked to a China-based Marxist financier, and was subpoenaed by federal investigators over a trip to Communist Cuba connected to an alleged Cuban subversion network.<\/p>\n

That none of this triggered a Democratic panic \u2014 until now \u2014 tells you everything about where the party’s progressive wing actually stands. The establishment only moved when the polling got bad enough. They did not move when he called for harming Americans. They moved when it became a liability.<\/p>\n

The DSA’s grip on the Democrat base is real, documented, and increasingly a problem the party cannot pretend away.<\/p>\n
