Country music star Jelly Roll did not back down on his mockery of President Donald Trump while sitting in for Jimmy Kimmel.<\/p>\n

The Jimmy Kimmel Live!\u00a0<\/em>host is currently on his summer break and Jason Bradley DeFord, better known by his stage name Jelly Roll, has filled in as a guest host for the last couple of nights. He certainly had no problem taking after Kimmel in making jabs at the president, opening his second night behind the desk with a crude East Wing joke before addressing criticism of his previous performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you for joining us here in Los Angeles, where it is hotter than hell outside. And that ain\u2019t right, y\u2019all. I flew here from Tennessee. We only come here for the women, weed, and the weather. I\u2019m so sweaty right now. It\u2019s like the East Wing of the White House in my pants,\u201d he quipped. \u201cMy ballroom is an absolute disaster.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI did a couple of jokes like that last night, in case y\u2019all didn\u2019t hear about it, and it\u2019s because I\u2019m hosting a damn late-night show. That\u2019s where you talk about the news and you make jokes. But I guess apparently because I did it, it really messed with people\u2019s heads,\u201d he continued, displaying headlines from outlets that covered the jokes.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a former felon and drug dealer who has lost 300 pounds, has tattoos all over his face and won three Grammys, this is the weirdest thing I\u2019ve ever done to \u2018stun\u2019 people,\u201d he snarked. \u201cWhat a turn of events. Who would have guessed I\u2019d get in more trouble with the president than Rosie O\u2019Donnell?\u201d<\/p>\n

O\u2019Donnell, who has beefed with the president for years, also guest-hosted Kimmel\u2019s show the week before without receiving very much attention.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome folks online were upset that I didn\u2019t treat the president with reverence and dignity. But I want to remind y\u2019all that I go by the name Jelly Roll. I don\u2019t even treat myself with reverence and dignity. One day I looked in the mirror and said, \u2018You, my friend, are a pastry.\u2019 Frankly, I think most people were just surprised that I had any opinions at all. They see a guy that looks like me and assume the only opinion I have is whether I prefer my meth crystal or classic,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow, let\u2019s be honest for a second. Any US president should be able to handle a few jokes, right?\u201d he added, not letting up on Trump. \u201cThey should also be able to handle gas prices, healthcare, and the occasional international conflict, but beggars can\u2019t be choosers. Look, y\u2019all, I get it that some people are mad at me for goofing on Trump, but if you wanted me to make jokes about Kamala Harris, you should have voted for her.\u201d<\/p>\n
