{"id":657641,"date":"2026-08-25T17:17:23","date_gmt":"2026-08-25T17:17:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/buglecall.org\/?p=657641"},"modified":"2026-08-25T17:17:23","modified_gmt":"2026-08-25T17:17:23","slug":"buc-ees-has-a-message-for-blue-states-that-dont-appreciate-it-well-build-elsewhere-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buglecall.org\/?p=657641","title":{"rendered":"Buc-ee\u2019s has a message for blue states that \u2018don\u2019t appreciate\u2019 it: We\u2019ll build elsewhere"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"630\" src=\"https:\/\/americanwirenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/sg-aplin-rf-pexels-buc-ees-1200x630.jpg\" class=\"attachment-facebook size-facebook wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Buc-ee\u2019s CEO Arch Aplin III plans to expand the Texas-based restaurant franchise by taking it nationwide, but only to red states.<\/p>\n<p>Aplin revealed as much while speaking during the Aug. 17 grand opening of the franchise\u2019s 58th store in Benton, Arkansas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a lot of opportunities, we\u2019re growing, we\u2019re building in a lot of places \u2014 but when you find a conservative, business-friendly state with a phenomenal workforce, it makes a difference,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m starting to realize life\u2019s too short to try to build in places that people don\u2019t appreciate what you\u2019re bringing versus a place like this, where people do appreciate what you\u2019re building.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo that leadership, that concept, that idea of conservative, business-friendly, family-oriented concept works so much better if it trickles down from the very leadership, from the very top at the governor\u2019s office, at the congressman, at the senator, at the mayor (and) the representatives,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Listen:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The founder of <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/bucees?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@bucees<\/a> Beaver Aplin put it best:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLife\u2019s too short to try to build in places that people don\u2019t appreciate what you\u2019re bringing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why red states like Arkansas are surging and people and businesses are fleeing blue state. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/GR95QelFCM\">pic.twitter.com\/GR95QelFCM<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Sarah Huckabee Sanders (@SarahHuckabee) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SarahHuckabee\/status\/2089694866934501410?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 18, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>His remarks come at a time when businesses are exiting blue states at a rapid pace in search of greener, red-state pastures.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the greatest wealth transfer in the history of the United States,\u201d economist\u00a0Stephen Moore recently told the <a href=\"https:\/\/cbn.com\/news\/us\/blue-state-exodus-millions-flee-it-could-flip-political-map\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Christian Broadcasting Network<\/a>\u00a0(CBN). \u201cWe\u2019ve never seen anything like this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Moore mainly blamed blue-state tax policies for this exodus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf they continue to charge 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 percent income taxes when you can pay zero income tax in Tennessee and Texas and Florida, that\u2019s not working out very well, so progressivism is destroying blue states,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Joel Kotkin of Chapman University added that businesses and individual people are also moving because of the \u201cwoke\u201d claptrap being pushed in schools.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople move in part because they don\u2019t feel comfortable anymore where they are,\u201d he said. \u201cThis is very much expressed in the public schools, where not only are they not teaching particularly well, but they\u2019re also imposing ideologies on people, and I think that drives some people to red states.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn a state like California, you pay high taxes, but you don\u2019t get much for your money. Schools, though, are pretty bad in much of the state. The roads are in terrible shape. The infrastructure isn\u2019t keeping up so people have to make a rational choice,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>Returning to the topic of businesses, Moore pointed out that many businessmen like Aplin have simply had it with bad policies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe people who are moving out are the millionaires and billionaires \u2014 and they\u2019re taking their incomes, their jobs, their businesses with them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Blue State exodus continues.<br \/>\nIn just one month New Jersey has lost Samsung Electronics and Exxon Mobile to Texas.<br \/>\nNJ has the highest corporate tax rate of any state and has now lost 7 Fortune 500 corporations in just the last several years. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/huBqbo4nea\">pic.twitter.com\/huBqbo4nea<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Big Fish (@BigFish3000) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BigFish3000\/status\/2074453893203837013?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 7, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The only problem for Buc-ee\u2019s is that it isn\u2019t exactly making itself welcome in red states with its burdensome lawfare. For example, the company recently sued Beaver\u2019s Mini Mart, a tiny corner store in Ohio whose mascot and logo bear a tiny resemblance to Buc-ee\u2019s own trademark.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[D]espite the mini mart having no gas pumps and being miles from the nearest interstate, Buc-ee\u2019s says its customers may be confused by the business\u2019s logo, which features a smiling beaver standing tall next to the store\u2019s name in a red-letter font,\u201d according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/money\/2026\/08\/21\/bucees-ceo-conservative-states-expansion-new-locations\/91407096007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USA Today<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ohio Gov.
