Iran is now trying to declare \u201cvictory\u201d over the United States as the nation becomes more desperate to end the war.<\/p>\n

While the absurd demonstration could be construed as a desire to exude strength and confidence,\u00a0The Wall Street Journal<\/a> reports that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf are simply looking for a way to bring things to an end.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe war must come to an end at some point,\u201d Pezeshkian said Friday in comments reported by Iranian media. \u201cIt is better that we demonstrate our strength and dignity today and tell the world that we have won and that we are ending the war.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ghalibaf was less direct but said there will be no security if the country ignores its economic crisis.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo matter how much military power we have, if our people are struggling and the country lacks financial circulation and economic growth, we will not achieve progress,\u201d the parliamentary speaker said. \u201cAs someone who has experienced war, we understand the true value of peace.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Iran and the United States are still not ready to come to an agreement that would end the hostilities in the Middle Eastern country, and it appears that the length of the war has taken its toll on the economy. As they continue to exert control over the Strait of Hormuz, their revenue declines and impacts the citizens of the country. This alone should make an excellent argument for ending things diplomatically, though it seems Iran is still unwilling to pursue that route.<\/p>\n
