The Lindsay Clancy trial has Americans deeply divided, and now it appears to be impacting relationships.<\/p>\n

Clancy has garnered plenty of support across social media, largely from women, after killing her three children and attempting suicide. Her defense argues that she was experiencing psychosis at the time the crime occurred, and therefore she should be found not guilty by reason of insanity. Online, discussion about the case has reached a fever pitch as people point out that she was cycled through several psychological medications too fast. Others argue that they believe her husband moved on too fast after his children were killed, and believe that means he had something to do with it.<\/p>\n

There is yet a third faction of people who claim that it doesn\u2019t matter why Clancy committed the crime; she should serve her time for ending the lives of three children.<\/p>\n

The debate hasn\u2019t stayed on the internet, though, and people are now revealing how the trial is impacting their personal relationships.<\/p>\n

One screenshot is going viral for purportedly showing a man breaking up with his partner because of her support for Clancy. He says that such a person is not a good fit to be the potential mother of his children.<\/p>\n

I can have compassion for someone struggling mentally without excusing what happened to those children,\u201d the man replied. \u201cIf I\u2019m choosing someone to potentially be the mother of my kids, I need to trust their judgment completely, especially when it comes to protecting them. What you said created a doubt in me that I can\u2019t ignore or gamble my future children on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another woman revealed in a video that her husband was sleeping in a separate room after he began following the case, and the two came to different conclusions.<\/p>\n
