A top Department of Justice official is leaving the administration to pursue legal work related to the upcoming midterm elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cEd Martin has been with me from the very beginning, and done an incredible job as an Attorney, Director of the Weaponization Working Group, and the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia,\u201d President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

\u201cEd is now leaving to go outside to fight Legal Battles for the upcoming Midterm Election, and the Presidential Election of 2028. I know he will do an outstanding job, ensure Free, Fair, and Honest Elections, and strongly advance our Constitutional Rights. Good luck Ed!\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Conservatives celebrated Martin\u2019s departure on the basis that the election work he\u2019ll be performing will be vital.<\/p>\n

\u201cPATRIOT! This is the same guy who relentlessly pursued corrupt AG Letitia James,\u201d one conservative tweeted<\/a>. \u201cHe\u2019s going to be vital to block Democrat cheating.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last year, Martin famously posed in pictures right outside New York Attorney General Letitia James\u2019 Brooklyn home as part of an effort to draw attention to the fraud she\u2019d committed in her real estate dealings.<\/p>\n

Martin was reportedly also involved in the investigation of disgraced former CIA Director John Brennan, disgraced former FBI Director James Comey, and current Federal Reserve Board of Governors member Lisa Cook.<\/p>\n

While working at the DOJ, Martin also sent letters<\/a> to Democrat Rep. Robert Garcia and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer warning them that they were under investigation for controversial past comments they\u2019d made.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring a live interview with CNN, when asked how Democrats can stop Elon Musk, you spoke clearly: \u2018What the American public wants is for us to bring actual weapons to this bar fight. This is an actual fight for democracy,’\u201d he wrote to Garcia.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis sounds to some like a threat to Mr. Musk \u2013 an appointed representative of President Donald Trump who you call a \u2018dick\u2019 \u2013 and government staff who work for him. Their concerns have led to this inquiry,\u201d the letter continued.<\/p>\n

In his letter to Schumer, Martin asked the senator to clarify comments made on March 4, 2020, about the Supreme Court\u2019s conservative justices.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to tell you Gorsuch, I want to tell you Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price,\u201d Schumer had said. \u201cYou won\u2019t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Attorney General Todd Blanche allegedly didn\u2019t appreciate all of Martin\u2019s efforts and \u201cstunts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Blanche \u201cgrew frustrated with Martin\u2019s undisciplined handling of investigations,\u201d The Washington Post<\/a> alleged, citing an anonymous source.<\/p>\n

Yet despite this alleged frustration, Blanche seemed genuinely happy for Martin\u2019s transition out of the DOJ. In a tweet, the attorney general even went so far as to refer to Martin as a \u201cpatriot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prior to joining the Trump administration, Martin reportedly defended several Jan. 6 defendants.<\/p>\n

When Martin later joined the administration, the president nominated him to serve as chief prosecutor in D.C.\u2013 a role now held by Jeanine Pirro \u2014 but the nomination was blocked by turncoats like Sen. Thom Tillis.<\/p>\n
