Making matters worse for the Russian population, <strong>several gas station networks have introduced new restrictions on fuel sales<\/strong> &#8211; which is a rarity for the capital.<\/p>\n<p><a data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/moscowlines.jpg?itok=hvRBGTAJ\" data-link-option=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/moscowlines.jpg?itok=hvRBGTAJ\"><\/a><\/p>\n<figure role=\"group\" class=\"caption caption-img inline-images image-style-inline-images\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"6f4cac8f-d8f1-4f7a-a3d9-fe6f7b1026a7\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" height=\"314\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/moscowlines.jpg?itok=hvRBGTAJ\" width=\"500\" \/><figcaption><em>Getty Images<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Gazprom Neft as well as\u00a0Tatneft have confirmed via representatives and their customer service lines that limits have now been placed on petrol sales at Moscow filling stations.<\/p>\n<p>Long lines of cars have been observed at filling stations in and around the capital city, with Reuters detailing the <a href=\"https:\/\/uk.finance.yahoo.com\/news\/moscows-fuel-stations-limit-sales-113017870.html\">following<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>A customer hotline \u200boperator at \u200bGazprom Neft said gasoline and diesel \u200bsales at the company&#8217;s automated \u200cfilling stations in Moscow were <strong>limited to 40 litres [10 gallons] per customer<\/strong>.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>At Gazprom Neft&#8217;s other filling stations, diesel sales remain unrestricted, while gasoline purchases are capped at 60 litres per vehicle.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Rosneft, Russia&#8217;s largest oil producer, said gasoline sales at all its filling stations across Russia \u200cwere <strong>limited to 30 litres per vehicle [about 8 gallons]<\/strong>, \u200bwhile diesel sales faced no restrictions.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These companies have also been warning customers to be prepared for longer waiting times for fill-up due to heightened demand.<\/p>\n<p>One reason being offered by Russian energy giants for the delays is<strong> &#8220;unscheduled refinery maintenance&#8221;<\/strong> &#8211; which is a vague but obvious reference to damage left in the wake of Ukraine&#8217;s constant drone attacks on the nation&#8217;s oil and refining infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>As for the latest attacks, on Wednesday it&#8217;s being widely reported that Ukrainian drones struck an oil refinery and a residential building in the republic of Bashkortostan, regional head Radiy Khabirov also\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/radiyhabirov\/13652\" title=\"said\">confirmed<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The incident once again demonstrates the very far reach of Ukrainian drones, given that\u00a0Bashkortostan is fairly remote from the Ukraine border, lying north of Kazakhstan.<\/p>\n<p><em>Frustration returns at the pumps&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\" xml:lang=\"en\">Russia\u2019s fuel crisis is back\u2014and so are the queues.<\/p>\n<p>Recent videos show drivers waiting for petrol across Moscow and multiple Russian regions. As always, falling debris damages pipes, so there\u2019s minor damage,&#8221; Khabirov\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tass.ru\/proisshestviya\/28024389\" title=\"told\">told<\/a>\u00a0TASS. &#8220;I expect everything will be repaired in a couple of days,&#8221; the official added.<\/p>\n<p>Starting late last week, Russian officials began openly acknowledging a renewed fuel shortage crisis. Oil companies are <strong>&#8220;taking the necessary measures to increase deliveries to the most vulnerable regions,&#8221;<\/strong> a somewhat rare Kremlin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/energy\/russia-admits-renewed-petrol-shortages-after-recently-claiming-situation-was-stabilized\">statement<\/a> said at the time.
