A group of teen thugs, hooligans, and delinquents broke into a family-owned Los Angeles market store on Saturday and caused over $30,000 in damages.<\/p>\n

Nathan Abdullatif, the owner of A-Z Market, wrote<\/a> in a GoFundMe fundraiser that the break-in happened during a so-called \u201cstreet takeover\u201d involving 100-150 cars and a \u201cgroup of individuals\u201d equipped with power tools.<\/p>\n

Using the tools, the \u201cgroup\u201d broke through the store\u2019s front window and security gate, after which dozens of hooligans reportedly stormed the store and ransacked it. In the process, they broke windows, damaged fixtures, and stole goods.<\/p>\n

The break-in led to damages totaling roughly $30,000.<\/p>\n

\u201cA-Z Market is more than just a store to us\u2014it is our livelihood and a place we have worked hard to build and serve our local community,\u201d Abdullatif wrote in the fundraiser. \u201cWe are asking for your support to help us repair the damage, replace the stolen merchandise, and get our business back on its feet.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking with local station KABC<\/a>, Abdullatif called the attack on his family store \u201cheartbreaking.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was so shocking. It doesn\u2019t even feel real,\u201d he said. \u201cYou always see this in the media. You always see this in other places but when it happens to you \u2013 and everything you\u2019ve built over the years \u2013 it\u2019s just very hard.\u201d<\/p>\n

He and his co-owner, Steven, were especially shocked at how the thugs seemed to enjoy ruining their business.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve seen them coming in the store, looting, jumping all over. They went over the counter, broke it. It\u2019s like they are having fun doing this thing,\u201d Abdullatif told CBS News<\/a>. \u201cWithin 10 minutes, all your hard working going off; it breaks my heart. We\u2019ve built it with the whole family. My mom, dad, brother, sister; we\u2019ve built it with love.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI was in shock. Total shock,\u201d Steven added. \u201cIt was devastating.\u201d<\/p>\n

Abdullatif had some words for the perpetrators.<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t do this to other businesses, because they work very hard to make a living,\u201d he said. \u201cEverything is so expensive these days, and we\u2019re just trying to make it through.\u201d<\/p>\n

The assault on his family store came roughly a week after a similar assault on an East Los Angeles AutoZone. Deputies told CBS News that they were called to an intersection for reports of a \u201cteen takeover.\u201d When they arrived, they found the AutoZone had been completely ransacked.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the shameless hacks and propagandists at the disreputable, disgraced Poynter Institute<\/a> have penned a piece calling for so-called \u201cjournalists\u201d to be more sensitive to the poor, poor teens.<\/p>\n

The problem, according to the repugnant nonprofit, is that \u201cteen takeover\u201d is mean and doesn\u2019t consider the kids\u2019 feelings.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the first fact the reader gets, and it arrives before any real facts do. By the time you report how many people showed up and what actually happened, the reader already knows what to feel because of the verb in the headline,\u201d fake \u201cdoctor\u201d Kevin Beckford told the propaganda outlet.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Takeover\u2019 says threat. \u2018Gathering\u2019 says something else entirely. Reporters should use gathering as a word of description,\u201d the shameless huckster added.<\/p>\n

Poynter also advised \u201cjournalists\u201d to avoid playing any incriminating video footage to the public, because obviously, it\u2019s not fair to the teens that they be exposed for their horrible, vile behavior.<\/p>\n

And the fake \u201cinstitute\u201d recommended \u201cjournalists\u201d avoid using adjectives and adverbs that accurately describe what happened.<\/p>\n

\u201cRemove sensationalized language such as unruly, frenzy, scourge, swarms, hordes, mobs, invasion, chaos, melee and mayhem,\u201d Poynter says.<\/p>\n

Poynter Institute is the owner of PolitiFact, the fake \u201cfact-checking\u201d site that routinely rates anything a conservative says as \u201cfalse\u201d while labeling similar claims from Democrats as true.<\/p>\n
