Between the cognitive decline of former President Joe Biden and the word salad buffet presented by former Vice President Kamala Harris, the leadership vacuum left by \u201cWeekend at Bernie\u2019s\u201d hasn\u2019t been the only consequence. Internal struggles over the direction of the Democrats have seen talking heads like James Carville decry Democratic Socialists of America, who balked at the chance to criticize Michigan\u2019s Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed.<\/p>\n

Shifting from discussing New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez\u2019s (D) position in the party, Fox News host Jesse Watters brought up California Gov. Gavin Newsom\u2019s (D) recent \u201cembarrassing\u201d trip to Michigan<\/a> as he teed up an opportunity to counter negativity from El-Sayed.<\/p>\n

\u201cOkay, is the rest of your party moving in the right direction?\u201d asked Watters. \u201cWe saw Gavin Newsom fly to Michigan to kiss this guy\u2019s ring. This guy Abdul, who calls you names, Carville. He hates you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before reminding how he supported El-Sayed\u2019s primary opponent, Michigan Rep. Haley Stevens (D), the longtime political strategist shrugged off the dig, \u201cSo what? They don\u2019t like me. I don\u2019t dislike them.\u201d<\/p>\n

The change in attitude comes as Carville not only stood against El-Sayed\u2019s campaign, but he\u2019d also sounded off in regard to the nominee\u2019s key surrogate, terrorist sympathizing Hasan Piker, \u201cIf he becomes a force in the Democratic Party, I\u2019m out of here<\/a>. I have no intention of ever being in the same political party with that guy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite all his talk of distancing himself from the party over the expanded influence of the DSA, the strategist came out in support of El-Sayed over his general election opponent, former Michigan Rep. Mike Rogers (R).<\/p>\n

During an appearance on \u201cPiers Morgan Uncensored,\u201d Carville expressed<\/a>, \u201cEl-Sayed himself has said the Democrats is as much of a problem as the Republicans, which I disagree with. But when I look at him, and I look at Mike Rogers, who\u2019s a lackey for the entire pharmaceutical industry, who is an election denier, then I\u2019m gonna take El-Sayed every time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWould I take him in a vacuum? Probably not, but against a clown like Rogers, who is an election denier running for the United States in the year 2026, who has never at once opposed the interests of Big Pharma. Yeah, I\u2019m gonna be for El-Sayed,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

On the flip side, the nominee previously responded to Carville\u2019s suggestion he would bail on the party during a stream with Piker. The Senate hopeful said, \u201cPart of me is like, why does anybody still listen to James Carville? He said one smart thing once, which he seems to have forgotten, which is, \u2018It\u2019s the economy, stupid.’\u201d<\/p>\n

As for Ocasio-Cortez, Watters\u2019 guest also downplayed her position to lead the party further left, suggesting her tempered presentation was akin to an actual change in policy. \u201cLook, there was a place where part of the country went crazy in 2019, \u201920, \u201921, \u201922. I told them they were crazy. And to her credit, she doesn\u2019t talk like that anymore. Good, you\u2019ve grown. We like that. You\u2019re moving in the right direction. And that\u2019s always a good thing.\u201d<\/p>\n
