Throughout the 2026 primary cycle, leftists have dutifully demonized President Donald Trump and Republicans while promising increased lawfare against the administration as seemingly the main plank of the party platform. Despite the narrative presenting the midterms as a foregone conclusion in favor of 2027 starting with a Democrat majority, Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Ken Martin was made to answer questions about leaks and a report that he allegedly threw a phone at a staffer\u2019s desk.<\/p>\n

Appearing on MS NOW\u2019s \u201cThe Weekend,\u201d details from a report by The New York Times were presented by co-host Jacqueline Alemany, who said, \u201cThe Times reported at the end of last month that you threw a phone at a junior staffer\u2019s desk; that it prompted an HR complaint. Multiple sources also described a growing sense of paranoia inside DNC headquarters under your leadership and that the staff had become afraid of leaks and decisions that you were making in isolation.\u201d<\/p>\n

In response, the DNC head began, \u201cWell, the reporting is not accurate, but what I would say is every day when I go into the DNC, what I see is a staff that works extremely hard. They\u2019re working overtime. I\u2019m usually the first one in, the last one to leave \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Placing Martin \u201cat the center,\u201d The New York Times described<\/a> the chair as having \u201cfound himself increasingly isolated, gripped by the fear that he will lose his job and relying on a vanishingly small circle of people he trusts, according to interviews with more than two dozen Democrats, including current and former D.N.C. officials and members.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMr. Martin\u2019s fraying nerves are showing. In a pique of frustration in early July, he threw his phone at the desk of a junior aide while upbraiding the person,\u201d continued the report. \u201cThe phone-tossing incident resulted in a formal complaint to the D.N.C.\u2019s human resources department.\u201d<\/p>\n

Unmoved by the guest\u2019s explanation, co-host Eugene Daniels pressed, \u201cBut to be fair, Mr. Chairman, some of this noise is coming from the inside, right? \u2026 if none of the reporting is true, why are people saying it about you?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, I don\u2019t know,\u201d came Martin\u2019s reply as he pivoted once more, \u201cbut as I travel across the country, Eugene, what I hear from the American people, they\u2019re not focused on any of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Internal leadership struggles have proven an ongoing problem for the Democrats while the big tent of intersectionality threatened to tear itself down via inclusivity. When not battling over fully embracing Marxist ideology, the party has practiced ousting elected leaders<\/a> like DNC Vice Chairs David Hogg and Malcolm Kenyatta in 2025 and President Joe Biden as party nominee in 2024.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the DNC chair attempted to spin the current finances of the party as a positive for an election year as the minority, when the DNC\u2019s cash flow was compared to the Republican National Committee. The latter reported zero debt and nearly $130 million on hand, while the former posted little more than $16 million with almost $19 million in debt.<\/p>\n
