Abdul El-Sayed\u2019s family ties have increased concern over the Democratic Senate nominee from Michigan, particularly as felony charges against his sister came to light.<\/p>\n

In the past, the Red Scare came about because adherents to Marxist ideologies knew public espousal of their beliefs would make attempts at rising to power dead on arrival. These days, caution has been thrown to the wind as candidates and their ilk openly align with radicals, such as El-Sayed\u2019s half-sister, Eman Abdelhadi, who was arrested in October for allegedly spitting on a law enforcement official during an anti-ICE protest.<\/p>\n

According to a report<\/a> from Fox News, the University of Chicago associate professor, fond of keffiyeh-clad ravings into a megaphone, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery to a government employee and two counts of resisting\/obstructing peace while allegedly spitting on an Illinois state trooper outside the Broadview, Illinois facility \u2014 a hotbed of criminal charge-worthy<\/a> activity. Aggravated battery is a Class 3 felony, while the other charges are considered a Class A misdemeanor.<\/p>\n

Just brazenly taking up community resources to terrorize this very same community.\u201d<\/p>\n

As previously reported, the Senate nominee\u2019s sister has called her own employer \u201cevil\u201d and a \u201ccolonial landlord\u201d while flaunting her \u201caccess to thousands of people that I could potentially organize\u201d made accessible by her job. \u201cThis is where I need to build power. This is my best possible structural leverage.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reacting to the report,\u00a0El-Sayed campaign spokesperson Sophie Pollock told Fox News, \u201cAbdul loves his sister and also disagrees with her on a number of political positions and the rhetoric she\u2019s chosen to use, including on foreign policy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut Abdul is the one on the ballot and his record of public service and his platform is what matters to voters here in Michigan. His campaign has always been about his love for America and Michigan,\u201d she added, contrary to El-Sayed\u2019s own resurfaced statement<\/a> about his state\u2019s popular destination site, \u201cI hate Mackinac so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

The sister of the nominee who earned campaign support from terrorist sympathizing podcaster Hasan Piker isn\u2019t the only family member of concern, as El-Sayed\u2019s father-in-law, Tayeb Jukaku, has been highlighted for his connection to terrorist organizations.<\/p>\n

Jukaku is currently a member of the founders committee of the Islamic Society of North America and a board director of the Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), both, as reported<\/a> by the Washington Examiner, unindicted co-conspirators in the 2007 USA v. Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development<\/em> criminal case.<\/p>\n
