A recently released deposition transcript reveals that former First Son Hunter Biden believes his family is flat broke.<\/p>\n

The deposition is the result of an ongoing case between firm Winston Taylor and Biden over alleged unpaid legal fees, with the company claiming the former first son owes them $17 million. They say they have not been compensated for their work \u201crepresenting him in criminal prosecutions, congressional investigations and defamation suits against his critics,\u201d according to Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy family doesn\u2019t have any money, and it\u2019s not their debt anyway,\u201d he said, according to the transcript. \u201cI don\u2019t own anything of any value other than \u2014 and I don\u2019t know the value of it \u2014 my paintings which I painted myself. So that\u2019s it. And I don\u2019t even have any other assets at all, stocks, bonds, anything like that, savings accounts.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t have any assets. I don\u2019t own a car. I don\u2019t own a phone,\u201d he added, later stating that the law firm was aware that he would not be able to make the payments and says the parties agreed to \u201cwork something out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Winston Taylor reportedly attempted to contact Biden donors within the party to recoup some of their losses by having them agree to cover some of his legal expenses.<\/p>\n

Sources \u201cfamiliar with\u201d former President Joe Biden\u2019s finances appear to substantiate these claims.<\/p>\n

\u201cUpon leaving office, the former president had accrued roughly $800,000 in personal debt\u00a0and was burdened with increased property taxes on their $2.7 million Delaware home, according to a source familiar with his finances. Biden also has had trouble booking paid speaking engagements, a common source of funds for former presidents, owing to his unpopularity and fears of angering President\u00a0Donald Trump,\u201d the outlet reported.<\/p>\n
