FCC boss showcases why \u2018The View\u2019 is NOT a \u2018bona fide news program\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"630\" src=\"https:\/\/americanwirenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/sg-sunny-ana-joy-split-1200-x-628-1200x630.jpg\" class=\"attachment-facebook size-facebook wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Federal Communications Commission (FCC) boss Brendan Carr had a perfect response to ABC-Disney\u2019s claim that \u201cThe View\u201d is a legitimate \u201cnews\u201d program.<\/p>\n<p>The network has argued that the long-running popular daytime gabfest is not subject to equal time rules to provide airtime to opposing political views and candidates because it is a \u201cbona fide news program\u201d despite the one-sided diatribes of the shrieking left-wing harpies who have relentlessly shilled for the Democratic Party.<\/p>\n<p>Whether \u201cThe View\u201d qualifies is a matter that is currently in dispute, but the evidence that it is a political operation is as plentiful as it is damning.<\/p>\n<p>In a post sharing a collection of video clips posted to X on Thursday, Carr makes his case that should settle the argument once and for all in the best way possible \u2013 just take it straight from the nags\u2019 own mouths.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDisney is arguing to the FCC that its ABC show The View is a \u2018bona fide news program,&#8217;\u201d Carr wrote. \u201cDisney claims that its decisions are based on \u2018newsworthiness\u2019\u2014rather than partisan purposes\u2014and thus exempt from political equal time rules. Here\u2019s some of the show.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Disney is arguing to the FCC that its ABC show The View is a \u201cbona fide news program\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Disney claims that its decisions are based on \u201cnewsworthiness\u201d\u2014rather than partisan purposes\u2014and thus exempt from political equal time rules<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s some of the show<\/p>\n<p>The FCC will make its\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Brendan Carr (@BrendanCarrFCC) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BrendanCarrFCC\/status\/2082963477577056752?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 30, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The compilation posted by the FCC chief was compiled by the Media Research Center\u2019s Nicholas Fondacaro and features the whole motley crew, and it sure as heck looks more like an unofficial propaganda operation of the DNC than any sort of \u201cbona fide news program\u201d like the network claims.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe FCC will make its decision based on all relevant evidence and precedents,\u201d Carr added, giving credit to Fondacaro for the fine work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor nearly four decades, the Media Research Center (MRC) has been an unrelenting media watchdog and a counterforce to activism in America\u2019s newsrooms, broadcast networks, and Big Tech platforms. As such, the MRC is uniquely qualified to respond to the Commission\u2019s request for comment on Disney\/ABC\u2019s petition to declare that the daytime television program The View qualifies as a bona fide news interview program,\u201d MRC President David Bozell <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/conservative-watchdog-tells-fcc-the-view-democratic-party-operation-not-news-program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a> in a letter to FCC division chief Maria Mullarkey last month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cABC claims that its daytime television program The View is a \u2018bona fide news interview program\u2019 and thus should be exempt from Congress\u2019s equal opportunity rules. This claim is belied by the facts,\u201d the MRC chief said in the letter, which was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/conservative-watchdog-tells-fcc-the-view-democratic-party-operation-not-news-program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">obtained<\/a> by Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile The View may once have qualified for an exemption, the evidence shows that it has for years operated for political purposes and is therefore not entitled to an exemption to the law,\u201d Bozell added.<\/p>\n<p>President Donald J. Trump has fiercely criticized the show, which clearly has a vendetta against him.<\/p>\n<p>Carr denied that the FCC is engaging in censorship or acting as the \u201cspeech police\u201d in a recent interview with Dasha Burns of Politico.<\/p>\n\n<p>(Video: YouTube\/Politico)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t view the FCC as the speech police,\u201d he said during the chat on \u201cThe Conversation\u201d podcast, adding that \u201cwe should be appropriately applying and enforcing the laws that Congress passed,\u201d also reminding the host that networks are under the obligation to promote the \u201cpublic interest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think in the media space in particular, the FCC over the last 20 or 30 years really backed away from the regulatory framework that Congress put in place,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd I don\u2019t think it\u2019s been a good thing, either in terms of our job of administering the law or the outcome that we\u2019re seeing across the media sector.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Any unbiased observer can clearly see that \u201cThe View\u201d and its gang of co-hosts are only interested in giving their devoted audience one side of the story: the Democrat side.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFifteen percent of people would eat gas station sushi,\u201d Carr told Burns, lamenting the decline of public faith in the so-called guardians of Democracy. \u201cOnly 8 percent of people say they have a great deal of trust\u201d in the mainstream media.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/americanwirenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/sg-sunny-ana-joy-split-1200-x-628-1200x630.jpg\" title=\"Brilliant!
