It has also served as Iran&#8217;s strategic tool in the Strait of Hormuz over the past five months,&#8221; Hamshahri wrote.<\/p>\n<p><a data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/iranspdbt.jpg?itok=egyDu-If\" data-link-option=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/iranspdbt.jpg?itok=egyDu-If\"><\/a><\/p>\n<figure role=\"group\" class=\"caption caption-img inline-images image-style-inline-images\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"245c7c8a-6c2d-46fe-9511-5480c8a6dfe7\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" height=\"334\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/iranspdbt.jpg?itok=egyDu-If\" width=\"500\" \/><figcaption><em>via Reuters<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>According to the report, Iran&#8217;s naval strategy is <strong>based on developing small, high-speed, low-cost boats in large numbers<\/strong>. Rather than competing directly with larger fleets, the strategy aims to increase the enemy&#8217;s costs and limit its freedom of action.<\/p>\n<p>On the role of the boats in keeping the Strait of Hormuz closed, Hamshahri added:<strong> &#8220;The combination of speedboats, naval mines, cruise and ballistic missiles, and drones has completed the puzzle of Iran&#8217;s strategic encirclement of the Strait of Hormuz<\/strong>.<strong>&#8220;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Brigadier General Hossein Alaei, the first commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy and a former Iranian defence official, has joined political figures calling for an end to the war with the United States, saying Iran&#8217;s true victory lies in restoring peace and stability.<\/p>\n<p>Alaei, who served as a senior IRGC commander during the Iran-Iraq War (1980\u20131988),\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.khabaronline.ir\/news\/2249496\/%D8%B9%D9%84%D8%A7%DB%8C%DB%8C-%D8%A7%D8%AC%D8%B1%D8%A7%DB%8C-%D8%AA%D9%81%D8%A7%D9%87%D9%85-%D9%86%D8%A7%D9%85%D9%87-%D8%A8%D9%87-%D9%86%D9%81%D8%B9-%D8%A7%DB%8C%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%86-%D9%88-%D8%A8%D9%87-%D8%B6%D8%B1%D8%B1-%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%B1%D8%A7%D8%A6%DB%8C%D9%84-%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%AA-%D8%A8%D8%A7%DB%8C%D8%AF\" target=\"_blank\">commented<\/a>\u00a0on the conflicts launched against Iran by the United States and Israel since June 2025.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In war, while it is true that Iran defends itself, stands firm, and strikes back at its enemy, the very existence of war is to the detriment of the Iranian people,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>The former IRGC commander also criticized the collapse of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Iran and the United States. He described the agreement as a complete victory for Iran and a defeat for Israel.<strong> &#8220;In this agreement, we gave up virtually nothing<\/strong>,<strong>&#8221; <\/strong>Alaei said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The US believes it has stripped, damaged and destroyed Iran&#8217;s nuclear program.
