Appearing on the \u201cUnholy Podcast,\u201d he recalled a brief conversation he recently had with Mamdani about the mayor\u2019s radical views pertaining to Israel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI said, \u2018Look, you are your father\u2019s son, I\u2019m my father\u2019s son. You chant \u2018a river to the sea,\u2019 and that means there will never be a Jewish homeland for Jews who have faced the Holocaust,&#8217;\u201d he recalled. \u201cAnd I said, \u2018I want you to hear this: over my dead body.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Listen:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Rahm Emanuel sat down with Zohran Mamdani for 90 minutes. 75 of them were about being a mayor. Or you can be focused on abolishing prisons and\u2026 the Senate and Supreme Court? The reality is that the NYC Department of Finance\u2019s $5 million number was very, very misleading \u2014 and potentially wrong.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow, here is the interesting part \u2014 once you are on the list you have to prove you should not be taxed by showing you are a resident,\u201d Penn wrote in a tweet. \u201cOr by challenging the valuation. Good luck fighting the city bureaucrats on both of these counts. The individual litigation will be massive.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Welcome to Socialism<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Mamdani with fanfare released a list of 960,000 owners of real estate in New York City that have been determined they could owe the pied a terre tax because NYC computers have determined they own what was billed as a market value of $5 million or\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Mark Penn (@Mark_Penn) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Mark_Penn\/status\/2082373739912552706?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 29, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Penn continued by arguing that the tax will hit many ordinary property owners, scare off non-resident buyers, impose large unexpected bills even on purpose with mortgages and little equity, and amount to \u201ctaxation without representation\u201d since non-residents can\u2019t vote.<\/p>\n<p>Penn concluded his lengthy post by calling it a classic\u00a0socialist bait-and-switch: it was sold as hitting only a small group of the ultra-rich, but the list ballooned to nearly a million.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[W]elcome to the lie of socialism \u2013 it starts with the idea that only \u2018they\u2019 are going to get it \u2014 a small group of 30,000 homeowners \u2014 and before you know it you are on the list,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Despite all this, Mamdani continues to defend the tax.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMayor Zohran Mamdani defended the rollout of a new tax on highly valued second homes in New York City, saying only property owners who receive a letter from city officials will be impacted by the levy,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2026-07-29\/mamdani-stands-by-pied-a-terre-rollout-despite-backlash\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bloomberg<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/americanwirenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/sg-mark-penn-rahm-emanuel-1200x630.jpg\" title=\"Clinton and Obama allies deliver a stunning rebuke of Mamdani\" \/><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two top Democrat figures with ties to the Obamas and the Clintons aimed fire at radical New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani this week.
