Conservative pundit Matt Walsh suggested that Republican lawmakers were engaging in toothless grandstanding during Wednesday\u2019s grilling of Dr. Anthony S. Fauci at a Senate committee hearing.<\/p>\n

The diminutive former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) boss whose policy advice was instrumental in the trampling of civil liberties during the COVID lockdowns may have invoked the Fifth Amendment, but that didn\u2019t prevent some Republican senators from using Wednesday\u2019s hearing to build their own brands and chase social media clout.<\/p>\n

The Daily Wire commentator wasn\u2019t impressed by the aggressive peppering of Fauci by the GOP senators, mockingly expressing skepticism that anything is going to come from the sound and fury.<\/p>\n

Walsh was referring to Sen. Bennie Moreno (R-Ohio), who slipped into Democrat mode by dropping an f-bomb during his performative questioning of the retired government official.<\/p>\n
