He also criticized the recent public release of his personal diary entries as an effort to embarrass and intimidate him.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Paul\u2019s opening remarks:\u00a0<\/strong>The chairman framed the session around\u00a0<strong>COVID origins, NIH-funded research (including gain-of-function issues), inconsistencies between Fauci\u2019s public statements and private diary notes<\/strong>, and accountability for the pandemic response.
