{"id":641457,"date":"2026-07-26T02:10:00","date_gmt":"2026-07-26T02:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/buglecall.org\/?p=641457"},"modified":"2026-07-26T02:10:00","modified_gmt":"2026-07-26T02:10:00","slug":"beijing-blacklists-14-eu-firms-after-brussels-targets-chinese-companies-in-latest-russia-sanctions-package-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buglecall.org\/?p=641457","title":{"rendered":"Beijing Blacklists 14 EU Firms After Brussels Targets Chinese Companies In Latest Russia Sanctions Package"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden\">Beijing Blacklists 14 EU Firms After Brussels Targets Chinese Companies In Latest Russia Sanctions Package<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thecradle.co\/articles\/beijing-blacklists-14-eu-firms-after-brussels-targets-chinese-companies-in-latest-russia-sanctions-package\"><em>Via The Cradle<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Beijing prohibited 14 EU companies from obtaining Chinese dual-use goods on Friday, targeting Europe&#8217;s defense industry shortly after the EU included 14 Chinese and Hong Kong firms in its 21st sanctions package against Russia.<\/p>\n<p>Announcing the measures with immediate effect, the Chinese Commerce Ministry <strong>called the bloc&#8217;s conduct &#8220;egregious&#8221;<\/strong> and demanded the EU &#8220;<strong>immediately correct its wrongdoing<\/strong>, <strong>eliminate the egregious impact<\/strong>, and safeguard the overall interests of China\u2013EU relations with concrete actions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/chinaindstry.jpg?itok=Gfcbi6da\" data-link-option=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/chinaindstry.jpg?itok=Gfcbi6da\"><\/a><\/p>\n<figure role=\"group\" class=\"caption caption-img inline-images image-style-inline-images\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"259e95bc-0324-45a7-9f0f-58a26555192b\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/chinaindstry.jpg?itok=Gfcbi6da\" width=\"500\" \/><figcaption><em>AFP\/Getty Images<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The restrictions cover dual-use items, goods, software, and technology with both civilian and military applications, including rare earth elements used to build drones and chips.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Parties outside China are also barred from transferring Chinese-origin dual-use goods to any listed entity, though exporters may request permission in exceptional cases or when a shipment is deemed &#8220;truly necessary.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rheinmetall leads the list, alongside Polish electronics producer Vigo Photonics, Italian electric motor manufacturer Lafert, French drone developer Cavok UAS, Czech truckmaker Tatra, Dutch naval engineering firm IHC Merwede<\/strong>, and several optics and laser companies.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Germany and France each have three entries<\/strong>, Italy and Poland each have two, and the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, and Lithuania each have one.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s mission to the EU\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.globaltimes.cn\/page\/202607\/1366752.shtml\">lodged<\/a>\u00a0a formal protest, voicing &#8220;strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition&#8221; to the measures and rejecting attempts by the bloc to place responsibility for the war in Ukraine on Beijing.\u00a0It added that China &#8220;firmly opposes the EU&#8217;s <strong>unwarranted listing and sanctioning<\/strong> of Chinese companies and citizens.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The 21st package subjected<strong> 51 entities to tighter export curbs on dual-use goods and technologies over their support for Russia&#8217;s military and industrial complex<\/strong>.\u00a0Companies based in India, Turkey, and the UAE were listed alongside those from mainland China and Hong Kong.<\/p>\n<p>Brussels targeted small trade and logistics operators in port cities like Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Dalian, while Beijing\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/economy\/global-economy\/article\/3361732\/china-adds-eu-entities-export-control-list\">focused<\/a>\u00a0on Europe&#8217;s defense industry.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\" xml:lang=\"en\">\ud83c\udde8\ud83c\uddf3\ud83c\uddea\ud83c\uddfa China just blacklisted the companies arming Europe.<\/p>\n<p>14 EU firms lost access to Chinese dual-use exports overnight, payback for the EU&#8217;s latest sanctions over Russia.<\/p>\n<p>The list hits artillery makers, drone builders, targeting systems, military trucks and lasers.<\/p>\n<p>All of them\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/EpKTSoqnTj\">pic.twitter.com\/EpKTSoqnTj<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Mario Nawfal (@MarioNawfal) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MarioNawfal\/status\/2080754895188115771?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 24, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Cui Hongjian, a former diplomat who heads European studies at Beijing Foreign Studies University, told the\u00a0<i>South China Morning Post\u00a0<\/i>(SCMP) that the disparity does not make the response any less reciprocal from Beijing&#8217;s perspective, noting that successive EU packages have named far more Chinese firms overall than China has named in return.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Since this whole episode arose from the Russia-Ukraine war, I think it&#8217;s understandable that China is now pointing its retaliation at Rheinmetall,&#8221;
