Subcontractors who worked on former President Barack Obama\u2019s presidential library are claiming they haven\u2019t been paid.<\/p>\n

A Fox News report<\/a> reveals that three more subcontractors have hit the Obama Presidential Center with mechanics liens, which claim that construction costs have gone unpaid.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe subcontractors claim they are owed money for structural steel, excavation and concrete, and gymnasium flooring work performed on Home Court, the Center\u2019s 60,000-square-foot basketball and events facility,\u201d the outlet noted.<\/p>\n

The total bill amounts to nearly $900,000, and is not the only payment dispute that the center is facing.<\/p>\n

Area Erectors, a structural steel subcontractor, says they are owed nearly $620,000. Excavation and concrete subcontractor CSI 3000 is seeking $236,000, while gymnasium flooring specialist Floors Incorporated is looking to be paid $25,000 for their work.<\/p>\n

While these subcontractors are seeking payment for work done specifically on the center\u2019s gym, other disputes are related to broader campus construction.<\/p>\n

The Obama Foundation, Obama\u2019s private nonprofit organization, oversees construction of the Obama Presidential Center. It hired Lakeside Alliance as the primary construction manager for most of the campus.<\/p>\n

Home Court, however, was built under a separate contract by Elevate Design Builders, a joint venture led by minority-owned BOWA Construction that served as construction manager for the facility.<\/p>\n

Although the mechanics liens are filed against the Obama Presidential Center property, they do not determine which entity is legally responsible for the disputed payments.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
