President Donald Trump has ordered \u201cwarning\u201d signs to be placed out in front of the extremely \u201cwoke\u201d Smithsonian\u2019s National Museum of American History.<\/p>\n

The president issued the order in response to a report<\/a> completed by the Domestic Policy Council that found that the Smithsonian isn\u2019t interested in presenting American history but rather twisting it to use it \u201cto advance ideas of social justice and the radical transformation of our society.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is therefore the policy of my Administration to take all available steps to ensure that the issues identified in the Report are addressed and to restore trust in the Smithsonian Institution,\u201d the president\u2019s order reads.<\/p>\n

PRESIDENTIAL ACTION, EXECUTIVE ORDER
\nRestoring Trust in the Smithsonian Institution<\/p>\n

Executive Order 14254 addresses concerns about the Smithsonian Institution\u2019s National Museum of American History, stating that the museum presents American history through a lens of social\u2026<\/p>\n

It goes on to say that the \u201cSecretary of the Interior, acting through the Director of the National Park Service (NPS) and in coordination with the Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy, shall install temporary signage along the NPS-maintained sidewalks and walkways used by the public to access the Museum, informing visitors of the findings of the Report.\u201d<\/p>\n

The signs will also correct the \u201cinaccurate information presented\u201d by the museum.<\/p>\n

Prior reporting has identified ways in which the Smithsonian promotes \u201cone-sided, divisive political narratives\u201d that are anti-American in nature<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmerican taxpayers should not be funding institutions that undermine our country or promote one-sided, divisive political narratives,\u201d White House official Lindsey Halligan told Fox News last July.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Smithsonian Institution should present history in a way that is accurate, balanced, and consistent with the values that make the United States of America exceptional,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

As an example of\u00a0 the inaccurate, biased content that the Smithsonian promotes, consider some of the nonsense that was preached at the National Museum of American History\u2019s \u201cEntertainment Nation\u201d exhibit.<\/p>\n

Designed to explore American pop culture, the exhibit contained a whole host of left-wing buzzwords and ideas. For instance, a placard reportedly featured alongside a 1923 circus poster contained language about so-called \u201ccolonialism.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, another placard reportedly describing early American entertainment accused the U.S. of being steeped in \u201cextraordinary violence.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the earliest defining traits of entertainment in the United States was extraordinary violence,\u201d the placard read.<\/p>\n

The exhibit also reframed iconic American characters through a politically charged lens.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe White title character\u2019s relationship with Tonto resembled how the U.S. government imagined itself the world\u2019s Lone Ranger,\u201d the exhibit said about The Lone Ranger.<\/p>\n

Even the exhibit\u2019s description of Mickey Mouse was steeped in left-wing claptrap.<\/p>\n

\u201cMickey challenged authority, but not everyone was in on the joke,\u201d the exhibit said. \u201cMickey Mouse debuted as the deckhand \u2018Steamboat Willie\u2019 in 1928, amidst a rising anxiety felt by many that modern living and city life were eroding family and community ties and loosening moral codes.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut the new character\u2019s outsized facial features, white gloves, and trickster temperament were vestiges of longstanding traditions of blackface minstrelsy,\u201d the exhibit continued.<\/p>\n

Halligan told Fox News that these examples were \u201cpart of the problem the Trump Administration aims to fix.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFraming American culture as inherently violent, imperialist, or racist does not reflect the greatness of our nation or the millions of Americans who have contributed to its progress,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

She further confirmed at the time that the Trump administration had begun a top-to-bottom content review of the exhibit.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are working with leadership at the Smithsonian to audit and review all content at the museums, and we are committed to ensuring that such content honors our country\u2019s founding principles, tells the stories of American heroes, and does not promote fringe or activist ideologies masquerading as history,\u201d she revealed.<\/p>\n
