President Donald Trump took some time to compliment former President Barack Obama during his WHCD dinner remarks.<\/p>\n

The rescheduled White House Correspondents\u2019 Association Dinner went off without a hitch, which means the president got to make the remarks that were cut short by a gunman at the previous event. This includes a mention of Obama during the 2011 dinner.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s married to a great tennis player, Andy [Roddick], and I have watched this clip thousands of times. They keep playing it because they think that was the evening I decided to run for president. It was not.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIn fact, I loved the evening. I looked at my wife, I said, \u2018Can you believe it? All these people, that\u2019s all they\u2019re doing is talking about me. I love this dinner!\u2019 It\u2019s true,\u201d he continued as the crowd laughed. \u201cAnd Obama was nice. He\u2026 you know, it\u2019s amazing how things work out. He actually showed a picture of the White House with a big \u2018TRUMP\u2019 on top, like I put a sign. And, you know, I\u2019m sort of doing that when you think about it, right? I mean\u2026 so he wasn\u2019t really wrong. But no, he was respectful. He was good. And it had\u2026 but it had nothing to do\u2026 it had nothing to do. I just decided that I wanted to make America great again. This had nothing to do with that dinner.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve gotten so many calls, and for years they\u2019ve been saying, \u2018Was that the moment you decided to run?\u2019 Really, no. I left that night, and the press was there\u2014a lot of the same people that I see. They said, \u2018Did you have a good time?\u2019 \u2018Unbelievable.\u2019 And some thought I didn\u2019t have a good time, but I did have,\u201d he added. \u201cI always remember Brooklyn, she was so angry, she was much angrier than me, and they really weren\u2019t; it was just one of those things.\u201d<\/p>\n
