A large fire broke out in the outskirts of Krasnodar in southern Russia at a sprawling Wildberries warehouse.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/wildberrsflames.jpg?itok=VJtFCZNI\" data-link-option=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/wildberrsflames.jpg?itok=VJtFCZNI\"><\/a><\/p>\n<figure role=\"group\" class=\"caption caption-img inline-images image-style-inline-images\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"fd03121d-9beb-410f-8e0c-8ed5242182ea\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" height=\"278\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/wildberrsflames.jpg?itok=VJtFCZNI\" width=\"500\" \/><figcaption><em>Image via Exilenova+<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Regional media has cited several separate fires in the area, before which witnesses reported hearing some 20 to 30 explosions across the city and its outskirts.<\/p>\n<p>Another key logistics hub for Wildberries, which is far and away the country&#8217;s biggest online retailer, was also hit in the\u00a0Stavropol region overnight, resulting in the urgent evacuation of employees.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Four days prior, the company&#8217;s warehouses in central Russia were struck<\/strong>, which <strong>killed eight people<\/strong>. Notably, this is the third warehouse belonging to the online retailer which has been destroyed in the span of a week. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/vcH8y2Mmyb\">https:\/\/t.co\/vcH8y2Mmyb<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/eVhRH57ul2\">pic.twitter.com\/eVhRH57ul2<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Woofers (@NotWoofers) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NotWoofers\/status\/2079749408833273957?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 22, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The regional anti-Kremlin publication\u00a0Meduza has tallied the size of the huge hubs hit and damaged in the <a href=\"https:\/\/meduza.io\/en\/feature\/2026\/07\/22\/ukraine-s-strike-on-russian-retail-giant-wildberries-warehouses-may-have-cost-sellers-at-least-150-billion-rubles\">following<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>The Ukrainian military\u2019s strike hit two Wildberries warehouses: one in\u00a0Elektrostal, outside Moscow \u2014 a\u00a0250,000-square-meter (2.7-million-square-foot) facility and one of\u00a0the company\u2019s largest logistics centers \u2014 and another in\u00a0Kotovsk, in\u00a0the Tambov region, a\u00a0108,000-square-meter (1.2-million-square-foot) warehouse that opened only last year.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Experts estimate the <strong>Elektrostal and Kotovsk warehouses accounted for 6.5% to\u00a09% of\u00a0Wildberries\u2019 total warehouse space<\/strong>. Losing them won\u2019t paralyze the marketplace\u2019s operations, though it\u00a0could <strong>strain its logistics network<\/strong>. Customers are unlikely to\u00a0see significantly longer delivery times, since Wildberries operates numerous sorting centers that let it\u00a0reroute shipments quickly.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>And additionally of note:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>Wildberries isn\u2019t formally required to\u00a0compensate sellers for the damage. On\u00a0July 7 \u2014 11 days before the attack \u2014 the company changed its contract terms with sellers, <strong>exempting itself from liability for \u201cforce majeure circumstances,\u201d a\u00a0category that now includes drone attacks<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Kremlin will no doubt take the ongoing threat and targeting of Wildberries&#8217; hubs very seriously. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/retail-consumer\/wildberries-russias-amazon-becomes-target-ukraine-2026-07-22\/\">Reuters<\/a> has reviewed that &#8220;Together with smaller rivals, <strong>Wildberries and Ozon sell goods and services worth the equivalent of 8.5% of Russia&#8217;s gross domestic product<\/strong>.
