Leftists are freaking out over a report that FBI Director Kash Patel is planning a trip to Russia.<\/p>\n

Politico<\/em> described the planned trip, which will likely take place in the fall, as \u201cunusual and sensitive\u201d<\/a> while pointing out that the United States and Russia are still disagreeing over the Ukraine War.<\/p>\n

\u201cPatel has a history of involvement in controversial Russia-related matters dating to President Donald Trump\u2019s first term, including trying to cast doubt on investigations into whether Trump colluded with Russia to help him win the 2016 election \u2014 an episode he now calls the \u2018Russiagate hoax.\u2019 Patel also is developing a track record of taking eye-catching trips in his role atop the FBI, drawing scrutiny from Congress,\u201d the outlet reported.<\/p>\n

They also cite a person \u201cfamiliar\u201d with the director\u2019s travel plans to say that he will make stops in St. Petersburg and Moscow, but go on to add that they are not sure if he will be meeting with the likes of Russian President Vladimir Putin or senior aides within the government.<\/p>\n

It didn\u2019t take long for X users to jump on the story, with some lobbing conspiracy theories while others stuck to insults:<\/p>\n
