A praiseworthy post about progressive \u201cparty poopers\u201d pinpointed the problem with \u201cbig tent\u201d intersectionality as infighting over the party\u2019s future further plagued the Democrats.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026 STOP pooping in the punch bowl \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

On the heels of Islamunist Zohran Mamdani\u2019s ascension to the position of New York City mayor, a wave of fellow Democratic Socialists of America looking to dismantle the American republic have found success in Democratic Party primaries.<\/p>\n

With control of Congress at stake in the midterm elections, CNN contributor Van Jones joined the growing ranks on the left speaking out against the \u201cREGRESSIVE\u201d agenda \u201cFAR outside\u201d the ideals he\u2019s long championed.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m tired of being told that, to be a progressive, I now must swear allegiance to crazy ideas,\u201d began a post from former President Barack Obama\u2019s onetime Special Advisor for Green Jobs that went on to conclude, \u201cYes, we want our Democratic Party to be a big tent. But we don\u2019t need \u2018party poopers. So STOP pooping in the punch bowl \u2014 and telling us the turds are ice cubes. They aren\u2019t. And we are smart enough to know the difference.\u201d<\/p>\n

Accompanied by a video sharing the same sentiment and highlighting the candidate for New York\u2019s 13 Congressional District, Mamdani-backed Darializa Avila Chevalier, Jones said,\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m a strong Democrat, with a winning bipartisan track record. I\u2019m rooted in progressive ideals and policies: criminal justice reform, Green New Deal, Medicare for All, free education, clean air and water. These are ideas I have fought for my entire adult life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut some people in groups like the DSA are pushing an agenda FAR outside those ideals,\u201d he asserted. \u201cSupporting Hamas is not progressive. \u2018No police, no prisons, no borders\u2019 is not progressive. Celebrating the murder of Israeli citizens is not progressive. These ideas are REGRESSIVE.\u201d<\/p>\n

Touching on how Trump Derangement Syndrome and the notion of \u201cvote blue, no matter who\u201d were being leveraged in favor of communists, the commentator added,\u00a0\u201cRight now, extremists are trying to sneak backwards proposals into our party, hoping mainstream Democrats are too frustrated with MAGA and the Democratic Party establishment to notice. But we see you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jones is only the latest outspoken Democrat calling out the extremists in the party. As previously reported, longtime strategist James Carville sounded off after the New York primary about how he\u2019s not in the same party with the radicals, \u201cAnd I actually do think it\u2019s time for Democrats to talk the \u2018s\u2019 word: schism. I really do.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEverybody\u2019s always said, \u2018No, no. We\u2019re a coalition, we\u2019re a big tent, and there\u2019s just some sh*t that I can\u2019t be in the same tent with,\u201d said Carville, who further exclaimed, \u201cI\u2019m not in that f*cking political party<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the forefront of calling out Jones\u2019 role in Obama\u2019s administration while exposing his background, Hall of Fame radio host Glenn Beck was among those who offered his gratitude to the progressive commentator for the \u201cwake up call\u201d to others on the left, while others slammed him as complicit or too late.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am so happy to see [Jones] now seeing what I saw so many years ago. I just assumed he knew. Obviously not. I still disagree with him on MANY things but I support his wake up call to the good neighbors and family members that continue [to] vote differently than I do,\u201d wrote Beck.\u00a0 \u201cWe have a country in common. What you are seeing from the left is a grave danger to our shared country and Republic.\u00a0 Thanks Van.\u201d<\/p>\n
