On Monday, President Donald Trump announced his suggestion for Senator Lindsey Graham\u2019s successor.<\/p>\n

Graham\u2019s sudden death shocked the political world and threw the state of South Carolina for a loop. As those closest to him come to terms with the loss, Trump came up with a \u201cwonderful\u201d way to pay tribute to the late lawmaker.<\/p>\n

\u201cI recommended, to Governor Henry McMaster, Lindsey Graham\u2019s wonderful sister, Darline, to serve as interim Senator from the Great State of South Carolina. This would be a fabulous tribute to Lindsey, who loved her dearly!\u201d Trump wrote on Truth Social<\/a> Monday morning.<\/p>\n

Sen. Tim Scott, R-South Carolina, voiced his approval of the idea in an X post.<\/p>\n

McMaster will appoint Graham\u2019s replacement at 4p.m. EST on Monday, and it\u2019s unclear if he is taking Trump\u2019s opinion under advisement.<\/p>\n
