Secretary of State Marco Rubio stepped in to do the right thing after Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz tried to protect a child rapist from deportation.<\/p>\n

Tou Lue Vang, an illegal immigrant from Laos, was just days away from being deported when Walz intervened to grant him clemency, essentially erasing his criminal conviction for repeatedly raping a 10-year-old girl. But Rubio announced on Thursday that Vang has been removed from the United States.<\/p>\n

Laotian national Tou Lue Vang was convicted of sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl in Minnesota.<\/p>\n

He was set to be deported until @GovTimWalz<\/a> issued him a pardon.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust weeks ago, a foreign child rapist was freed to once again endanger America\u2019s children after receiving a pardon from Minnesota Governor Tim Walz,\u201d Secretary Rubio explained. \u201cTue Lue Vang admitted to committing heinous crimes against a 10-year-old girl in Minnesota. He attempted to pay his victim for her silence and dismissed his acts of child abuse as a \u2018minor thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vang, who was convicted of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, told authorities after he was arrested that it was \u201ca cultural thing\u201d in his country to have sex with young girls.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust days before he was scheduled to be deported, the Minnesota Governor pardoned him, setting him free to endanger American families once again,\u201d Rubio added. \u201cThat\u2019s why I terminated his legal status in the United States. Vang has now been removed from our country and will never pose a threat to any American ever again.\u201d<\/p>\n
