A Washington state Democrat has ignited fresh outrage as previous comments about girls\u2019 bodies and parental rights have caught social media attention.<\/p>\n

As the left continues its push to take over parents\u2019 roles in their children\u2019s upbringing, comments by Washington State Senator Jamie Pedersen in 2025 have sparked renewed criticism on X, where a Fox News clip was posted.<\/p>\n

\u201cWomen have, if they\u2019re old enough to get pregnant, they\u2019re old enough to make their own decisions about what happens with their bodies, okay?\u201d said Pedersen, who is a member of the Democrats\u2019 LGBTQ Caucus.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd parents do not have the right to change that or make a different decision, or be notified in advance,\u201d added the Senate majority leader, as seen in the clip that garnered a reaction from Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who called it simply \u201csick & deranged.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is not just his opinion \u2013 it is Washington State law.<\/p>\n

\u201cAccording to this man, they were both old enough to make their own medical decisions and I would have no right to know anything because they were \u2018old enough to get pregnant,’\u201d the post<\/a> continued, adding, \u201c8 and 9 years old. Just remember that. Neither one of them could make that kind of decision. They got their periods, yes, but they were in second and third grade and neither could decide what they wanted for breakfast that morning, or what color dress to dress their DOLLS in because they were still babies playing with dolls themselves-but old enough to get pregnant so what does mom need to know anything for? Yikes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pedersen is running for re-election, representing Washington state\u2019s 43rd district since 2013.<\/p>\n

\u201cPedersen was Lambda Legal\u2019s lead counsel on marriage equality and sponsored the bill that legalized it in Washington. He helped abolish the death penalty. He wrote privacy protections for transgender residents and expanded access to abortion medication,\u201d according to mynorthwest.com. \u201cThis spring, he was the lead architect of the millionaire\u2019s tax, the first income tax in state history. In most of the country, that\u2019s a progressive hero\u2019s resume.\u201d<\/p>\n

Social media continued to reverberate with reactions to Pedersen\u2019s disturbing views.<\/p>\n
