Oh, where oh where did Little Italy go?<\/p>\n

That\u2019s what Italian Americans living under NYC\u2019s Mayor Mamdani\u2019s rule would like to know.<\/p>\n

The Socialist mayor released a map on Wednesday highlighting \u201cNew York City Immigrant Enclaves,\u201d showcasing 30 areas across five boroughs, the New York Post reported.<\/p>\n

But there was at least one glaring omission of a nationally recognized historic site from the new map, according to numerous critics.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were able to get a Little Bhod-Tibet in there, but what about the original \u2018Little neighborhood,\u2019 Little Italy?\u201d Councilwoman Joann Ariola (R-Queens) told The Post.<\/p>\n

But Italians weren\u2019t the only ethnic group allegedly snubbed. So were the Irish.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd what about areas like Woodlawn, in the Bronx, which are home to plenty of Irish immigrants? Do the Irish and Italians not count for the Mayor\u2019s office?\u201d Ariloa added.<\/p>\n

The Orthodox Jewish community was also snubbed according to critics.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Mayor\u2019s Office made a map of NYC\u2019s immigrant enclaves: Little Africa, Little Poland, Little Palestine. But they just couldn\u2019t figure out how to represent 11% of the city. Couldn\u2019t decipher where the Jews are from,\u201d writer Avital Chizhik-Goldschmidt raged on X. \u201cHuge riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Mike Crispi, President of the Italian American Civil Rights League, came out swinging.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is cultural erasure,\u201d Crispi said. \u201cLittle Italy is sacred ground. It is where Italian immigrants came with nothing, worked like hell, opened shops, raised families, built churches, fed the city, and helped make New York what it is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zohran Mamdani wants to ERASE Italian Americans.<\/p>\n

First, he denied our permit for Unity Day 2026.<\/p>\n

Now, he is excluding Little Italy as a recognized location all together on the map.<\/p>\n
