Despite claims by some Republicans that they\u2019ve spoken with hospitalized Sen. Mitch McConnell, President Donald Trump admitted he has \u201cno idea\u201d how the 84-year-old is doing.<\/p>\n

The president was asked about the health of the former Senate majority leader while aboard Air Force One on Wednesday, telling reporters he has not spoken with McConnell, who has been in the hospital since mid-June.<\/p>\n

\u201cHave you spoken to Senator Mitch McConnell?\u201d a reporter asked the president.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo,\u201d Trump responded.<\/p>\n

Trump: No.<\/p>\n

Q: How\u2019s he doing?<\/p>\n

When the reporter asked, \u201cHow\u2019s he doing?\u201d Trump admitted, \u201cI have no idea.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have no idea how he\u2019s doing,\u201d he repeated.<\/p>\n

The Kentucky Republican, ever at odds with Trump, was hospitalized for an unknown condition, and his office has not provided many updates. A shocking report indicated that he was found unconscious in his home in Washington, D.C., and may have suffered a heart attack.<\/p>\n

Senate Majority Leader John Thune and Majority Whip John Barrasso \u201chad a lengthy and substantive conversation that covered a variety of topics, including national security,\u201d a spokesperson for Thune said in a statement on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Barrasso and McConnell \u201chad a lengthy conversation early this afternoon,\u201d according to Barrasso spokesperson Kate Noyes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey caught up about the latest news impacting Senate races, the Graham Platner scandal and the recent Supreme Court ruling on coordinated spending limits,\u201d she added. \u201cSenator McConnell was fully engaged and is eager to get back to the Senate.\u201d<\/p>\n

CNN commentator Scott Jennings, a former aide to McConnell, posted on social media that he had spoken to his \u201cold friend.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I heard his voice today, and he was clearly keeping up with stuff, that made me happy to hear from him because like everybody else, I\u2019ve been, you know, somewhat in the dark about it,\u201d Jennings told a CNN panel after his call.<\/p>\n

Kentucky\u2019s Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear also reached out to McConnell, reportedly sending a letter to request more information on his health.<\/p>\n
