{"id":632643,"date":"2026-07-09T11:40:31","date_gmt":"2026-07-09T11:40:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/buglecall.org\/?p=632643"},"modified":"2026-07-09T11:40:31","modified_gmt":"2026-07-09T11:40:31","slug":"trump-casts-doubt-on-platner-accusers-claims-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buglecall.org\/?p=632643","title":{"rendered":"Trump casts doubt on Platner accuser\u2019s claims"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"630\" src=\"https:\/\/americanwirenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/sg-trump-1200x630.jpg\" class=\"attachment-facebook size-facebook wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/div>\n<p>President Donald Trump called out political double standards as he weighed in on the Graham Platner scandal.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with reporters aboard Air Force One on Wednesday, the president was asked about the unraveling campaign of the Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner, who would shortly announce his withdrawal from the race.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo you think that the Democrats should be able to pick a replacement for Graham Platner?\u201d one reporter asked Trump, referring to Democrats urging the candidate to drop out amid multiple disturbing allegations, in a move that many would see as reminiscent of ejecting former President Joe Biden out of his re-election race in 2024.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/17.0.2\/72x72\/1f6a8.png\" alt=\"\ud83d\udea8\" class=\"wp-smiley\" \/> BOOM! President Trump just EXPOSED that the Democrats IGNORED allegations against Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner when it was a REPUBLICAN woman<\/p>\n<p>But now that the accuser is liberal, they suddenly believe her. It\u2019s very hard for them to do,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s really a question of whether or not you believe the woman. A lot of people say big falsehoods. It\u2019s, uh \u2014 he\u2019s in a bind. He\u2019s in a bind,\u201d he added as the left tripped over themselves in claiming Trump had defended Platner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut, should they be able to do it? Well, I guess he\u2019s gonna lose. I would imagine he\u2019s gonna lose,\u201d Trump continued, referring to the race against incumbent Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) before dropping a reality check.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s very interesting. When a Republican woman came out with the same charge, nobody believed her. When this woman came out, everybody believed her,\u201d he noted, referring to allegations against Platner by ex-girlfriend Lyndsey Fifield, a Virginia conservative.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats conveniently forgot their cries of \u201cbelieve all women\u201d and shockingly dismissed Fifield\u2019s claims, standing by Platner until the nominee\u2019s implosion was hard to ignore. But sexual assault accusations by Platner\u2019s ex-girlfriend, Jenny Racicot, were the final nail in the coffin.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after Trump\u2019s comments, the Democratic Senate contender dropped out of the race.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Graham Platner, Democratic U.S. Senate Candidate in Maine announces that he will drop out of the race: \u201cWe\u2019re not doing it because of the allegations, we\u2019re doing it because of the structures that are being taken away from us by those in power.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/GDKpJuQXdO\">pic.twitter.com\/GDKpJuQXdO<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 CSPAN (@cspan) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/cspan\/status\/2075030818800468250?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 9, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI just want to make it clear. This is all false. The things that have been claimed did not happen.
