Susan Collins (R). Now, as endorsements are disappearing faster than lawmakers on recess, MS NOW political analyst Charles Blow took a shot at revisionist history with a line of defense favoring continued support for Platner, invoking President Donald Trump and Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.<\/p>\n<p>Appearing on MS NOW\u2019s \u201cThe Moment\u201d with Katy Tur in the wake of the candidate\u2019s ex-girlfriend Jenny Racicot coming forward with allegations he entered her home uninvited before sexually assaulting her, Blow acknowledged the importance of hearing her out before quickly shifting to demonizing Republicans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut the second thing I want to say is that we continue to have a situation where Democrats and Republicans are playing by completely separate rulebooks,\u201d the former <em>Times<\/em> op-ed writer suggested in a clip highlighted by NewBusters\u2019 Curtis Houck. \u201cThe idea that this would push him out of the race, maybe that\u2019s the right thing to do. But, you know, Donald Trump was found liable of sexually abusing a woman, and then eight months later, a separate jury found him guilty of \u2014 liable for defamation of her, and then ten months after that, he was still elected.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">NYT columnist Charles Blow DEFENDS Graham Platner staying in the race after the Politico story alleging sexual assault, arguing the GOP has stuck behind Kavanaugh despite Blasey Ford\u2019s \u201ccompelling testimony\u201d that \u201cshe was raped\u201d\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, the first thing I always want to say in\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/LQssxeKB38\">pic.twitter.com\/LQssxeKB38<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Curtis Houck (@CurtisHouck) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CurtisHouck\/status\/2074223798576922645?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 6, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It was then that Blow turned to the allegations brought against Kavanaugh during his 2018 confirmation hearing, insisting Christine Blasey Ford had offered \u201ccompelling testimony\u201d about an accusation that hadn\u2019t been leveled against the jurist.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChristine Blasey Ford gave, I thought, compelling testimony against Brett Kavanaugh about what she said \u2014 she was raped,\u201d the analyst said, despite her only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judiciary.senate.gov\/imo\/media\/doc\/09-27-18%20Ford%20Testimony.pdf\">testifying<\/a> she \u201cbelieved\u201d he was going to rape her before the alleged sexual assault was interrupted. \u201cHe was still confirmed by Republicans in the Senate. We are just on two different ball fields when it comes to cases like this, situations like this in politics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Worth noting, the same newspaper that used to employ Blow for his opinion was also accused of having \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizpacreview.com\/2026\/06\/05\/platners-ex-says-she-was-set-up-by-ny-times-turning-her-story-into-a-gift-for-his-campaign-1644527\/\">delayed and twisted<\/a>\u201d allegations brought by another of Platner\u2019s ex-girlfriends, Lyndsey Fifield.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter the story went up, I began to ask them \u2026 wait, where are the stories from the other women? Where are their accusations of sexual assault? Why am I the focus? Why are there 11 paragraphs dedicated to detailing my work history (more than has been published about Graham\u2019s by far)? Why does it say \u2018nobody could corroborate\u2019 when I offered them sources that COULD corroborate?\u201d she wrote on social media over the weekend before going on to add, \u201cIt dawned on me that this really was a set up all along. The journalists I trusted who convinced me to share a story I never wanted to tell methodically delayed and twisted this into a gift to the Platner campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for Blow and his reliance on recycled allegations, reactions deemed to be the modus operandi of the left are little more than a \u201cpure evil\u201d attempt to \u201cjustify anything they do.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-conversation=\"none\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">That\u2019s why they (the marketing team and their party of choice) have worked so hard to keep the messages around Kavanaugh and Trump on repeat. So they can justify anything they do.
