CNN host Kasie Hunt told Scott Jennings that he should get Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on the phone.<\/p>\n

As speculation swirls around McConnell\u2019s prolonged absence after being found unconscious in his home and taken to the hospital, Jennings joined The Arena<\/em> to quell concerns about the senator\u2019s health. This comes after he published a post on X, saying that he spoke to McConnell on the phone Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n

Hunt brought this up on her show, asking the contributor if McConnell might be willing to take a phone call from him live on air.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we wrap up here, do you think he\u2019d be willing to call into the show? Could we get him on the phone now?\u201d she wondered.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wasn\u2019t really expecting him to call this morning, to be honest, so when the phone rang and I was able to talk to him, I was frankly pretty grateful,\u201d Jennings chuckled. \u201cI mean, as I said, I\u2019ve known him since I was a teenager. If it hadn\u2019t been for Mitch McConnell and the McConnell Center at the University of Louisville, you know, I would never have been able to go to college. He\u2019s been my mentor, and he changed the trajectory of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, you know, when things happen to him and happen to people in your life that you really care about, you just sort of naturally feel extremely worried. So when I heard his voice today, and he was clearly keeping up with stuff, that made me happy to hear from him because, like everybody else, I\u2019ve been, you know, somewhat in the dark about it, but to hear him talking and to know that he\u2019s also talking to the Senate leadership, it made me pretty happy,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Hunt then asked if he thinks a picture of McConnell should be released to quell theories from the \u201cMAGA media ecosphere.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI sometimes wonder, like, if I were lying in a hospital bed, would I want a bunch of people around photographing me? Probably not. Particularly if I were an 84-year-old person who\u2019s normally private about his health. Probably not. But, look, I take the criticism. I think it\u2019s a fair question about transparency. I think it\u2019s a fair question about whether they\u2019ve done enough. But ultimately, these office holders, you know, they\u2019re in charge of their own operations, and it may be that somebody around him says, \u2018Let\u2019s put out a picture,\u2019 and he doesn\u2019t want to do it,\u201d Jennings mused.<\/p>\n
