{"id":628357,"date":"2026-07-01T18:19:14","date_gmt":"2026-07-01T18:19:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/buglecall.org\/?p=628357"},"modified":"2026-07-01T18:19:14","modified_gmt":"2026-07-01T18:19:14","slug":"no-one-was-allowed-to-leave-travelers-describe-bizarre-orlando-airport-lockdown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buglecall.org\/?p=628357","title":{"rendered":"\u2018No one was allowed to leave\u2019: Travelers describe bizarre Orlando airport lockdown"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"630\" src=\"https:\/\/americanwirenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/sg-baggage-1200x630.jpg\" class=\"attachment-facebook size-facebook wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Travel troubles found hundreds of international travelers stuck at the airport, allegedly under threat of arrest, \u201cand no one ever gave us an explanation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p>(Video Credit: Fox 35 Orlando)<\/p>\n<p>Weary travelers didn\u2019t know it yet, but when they arrived on a flight from London\u2019s Heathrow Airport at Orlando International Airport in Florida, they still had roughly five hours remaining before they could officially enter the U.S. Though denied by airport officials, a baggage delay forced passengers from three Virgin Atlantic flights to wait to clear customs, \u201cand no one was allowed to leave the room.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement from the airline, Saturday\u2019s troubles were caused by weather impacting operations for baggage handling.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019d like to apologize for the inconvenience caused to customers whose bags were delayed arriving into Orlando International Airport on June 27, due to adverse weather which affected ground handling operations,\u201d said Virgin. \u201cWe worked closely with our airport and ground handling partners throughout, and all customers were reunited with their bags before leaving the airport.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with the Orlando Sentinel, passenger Carol Wick, a Florida resident, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.orlandosentinel.com\/2026\/06\/28\/passenger-hundreds-stuck-at-orlando-airport-told-theyd-face-arrest-if-they-left-without-baggage\/?clearUserState=true\">said<\/a> she\u2019d \u201cnever seen anything like this \u2026 It was just the craziest thing I\u2019ve ever experienced in my whole life and there\u2019s no explanation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Attesting to the threat of arrest, Wick also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.com\/news\/article-15942539\/orlando-airport-staff-hours-luggage-arrest.html\">told<\/a> the Daily Mail, \u201cNo one attempted to leave as we were told very, very clearly and repeatedly no one was allowed to leave the room. Several other groups came through and got their baggage right away and left. It was only three Virgin Atlantic flights that were trapped.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In its own statement on the incident impacting some 800 passengers, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, which holds jurisdiction at the airport for enforcing immigration, expressed, \u201cCBP officers were present and prepared to process travelers.
