It then struck the 528-meter CITIC Tower.<\/p>\n<p>Shen said the plane was an ultralight aircraft &#8211; not a high-speed military &#8211; making the incident <strong>less about kinetic capability and more about airspace control. The failure to prevent a low-and-slow altitude aircraft exposes massive security failures by Beijing.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>She explained further:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>A general-aviation training plane breached airspace over one of China&#8217;s most tightly controlled cities and struck a 528-meter skyscraper in the heart of Beijing.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Airspace near Beijing&#8217;s CBD is normally restricted for this class of aircraft, meaning the restriction regime failed to prevent the breach.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>The pilot is presumed dead.
