On occasion, Stephen A Smith will say the quiet part out loud, as seen this week when he expressed bafflement over how the Obamas and Clintons got so wealthy while \u201cserving\u201d the American people.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll confess something to ya\u2019ll, Smith said on his podcast. \u201cClinton was a lawyer in Arkansas, grew up poor, relatively broke. How the hell he and the Clinton Foundation are worth hundreds of millions of dollars beats me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBarack Obama was a community organizer who became the President of the United States,\u201d he added. \u201cAnd last time I checked, that salary ain\u2019t over $450,000, if I remember correctly.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n

Stephen A. Smith admits he can\u2019t wrap his head around \u201chow the hell\u201d the Clintons and Obamas left office worth upwards of $100,000,000 after \u201cserving\u201d the American people.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s amazing to me how these politicians go into office and you\u2019re sworn to serve the American people,\u201d Smith said. \u201cIt\u2019s called service, but somehow, someway, they always depart exponentially richer than they arrived. And how no matter how hard we try, we can\u2019t get rid of lobbyists on Capitol Hill because the lobbyists are the ones funneling money into their pockets.\u201d<\/p>\n

For what its worth, the Obamas have an estimated joint net worth of approximately $70 million to $135 million, and Bill and Hillary Clinton have a combined estimated net worth of approximately $120 million.<\/p>\n
