A Louisiana pastor who went viral for whooping some ass is now defending the beatdown he delivered by citing the \u201cvictim\u2019s\u201d crap behavior.<\/p>\n

Pastor Tony Spell of Life Tabernacle Church was changing a church bus battery when his neighbor\u2019s son allegedly started threatening his family, so Spell crossed the road and whooped the young man\u2019s behind.<\/p>\n

After the fight, Spell was arrested for second-degree battery, though he remains adamant that he did nothing wrong, given the behavior of the neighbor\u2019s son.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe said, \u2018Tony, I\u2019m gonna rape your wife, I\u2019m gonna rape all of your grandchildren,\u2019 and he said, \u2018The next time you go out of town, I\u2019m gonna kill them, and what the F are you going to do about it?’\u201d Spell later recalled to local station WBRZ<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The evidence shows that the neighbor\u2019s son, Luke Sherwin, had a history of harassing Spell\u2019s family, particularly his wife, Shaye.<\/p>\n

In May, Shaye filed a police report about a March incident in which Sherwin had \u201cflipped\u201d her off before jumping in his truck and following her.<\/p>\n

\u201cSherwin allegedly rolled down his window, started yelling obscenities and acted as though he was getting out of his truck at the light,\u201d WBRZ notes.<\/p>\n

During a second incident, Shaye and her husband were leaving home while Sherwin was reportedly \u201cflipping\u201d them off and grabbing his junk.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe said as the two drove, they noticed Sherwin\u2019s truck approaching their rear bumper before swerving to pass them and driving in their lane,\u201d according to WBRZ. \u201cShe said that the truck crossed in front of them, crossed three lanes and turned left onto another road as it almost hit their vehicle.\u201d<\/p>\n

The police reportedly tried to talk to Sherwin\u2019s father, Scott, in May, telling him that his son needed to stop following and contacting Shaye. But then the Spells showed up in their white pickup and all hell broke loose.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe groups began yelling and gesturing at each other,\u201d WBRZ notes. \u201cThe officer told Tony Spell to get back in his truck and Scott Sherwin to \u2018calm down\u2019 and stop making gestures toward the pastor.\u201d<\/p>\n

A prior report was also filed in 2023, when Shaye accused \u201ctheir neighbor across the street,\u201d according to court reviews reviewed by WBRZ, of placing traffic cones in front of Spell\u2019s church to block the entrance.<\/p>\n

Critics agree that, from the sounds of it, Sherwin deserved the beatdown he got:<\/p>\n

Why was the pastor arrested? As a retired cop, what I took away from that video is a man of God, going to pray with a man for he is obviously disturbed. The other man CLEARLY was the primary aggressor, approached the pastor and threw the first, second, third and fourth punch!<\/p>\n

Spell also defended himself while speaking at his church on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

As a \u201cnatural protector to my wife and to my grandchildren who were threatened murder, who were threatened rape, I have an obligation to protect them,\u201d he said, according to The Advocate<\/a>.<\/p>\n
