The Media Research Center (MRC), a conservative media watchdog, believes \u2018The View\u2019 is nothing short of a Democrat operation.<\/p>\n

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) probed the program earlier this year as part of its crackdown on equal time for political candidates, but MRC says \u2018The View\u2019 is far from a \u201cbona fide news program.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFor nearly four decades, the Media Research Center (MRC) has been an unrelenting media watchdog and a counterforce to activism in America\u2019s newsrooms, broadcast networks, and Big Tech platforms. As such, the MRC is uniquely qualified to respond to the Commission\u2019s request for comment on Disney\/ABC\u2019s petition to declare that the daytime television program The View qualifies as a bona fide news interview program,\u201d said the watchdog\u2019s president, David Bozell, in a letter to FCC division chief Maria Mullarkey, which was obtained by Fox News Digital<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cABC claims that its daytime television program The View is a \u2018bona fide news interview program\u2019 and thus should be exempt from Congress\u2019s equal opportunity rules. This claim is belied by the facts. While The View may once have qualified for an exemption, the evidence shows that it has for years operated for political purposes and is therefore not entitled to an exemption to the law,\u201d the letter continued.<\/p>\n

He claimed the center \u201chas the documentation to demonstrate that The View is a partisan political operation that advocates for Democrats and their party, against President Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans, and for the political priorities of the left,\u201d and had proof ABC \u201cmisrepresented its program in its petition to the FCC\u201d with an improper First Amendment case law citation.<\/p>\n

\u201cMRC has published eight studies documenting how The View engages in partisan programming to promote Democrat candidates and Democrat-aligned policies, while refusing to interview those who would imperil Democrat electoral chances with few exceptions (like the recent interview of Vice President JD Vance),\u201d Bozell\u2019s letter continued. \u201cThe View is a political operation of the Democratic Party, not a bona fide news interview program. ABC\u2019s petition in defense of The View is a terrible misstatement of First Amendment law that obfuscates how ABC\u2019s use of U.S. public spectrum is a privilege, not a right.\u201d<\/p>\n

He concluded the 18-page letter by asserting that \u2018The View\u2019 has every right to exist, but \u201cshould not be subsidized with public spectrum\u201d given their propensity for leftist politics and social opinions.<\/p>\n

ABC has launched a campaign urging viewers to support the program.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe View has welcomed your favorite guests for nearly 30 years. Now the FCC wants to control who is allowed to appear on the show. Tell the FCC to let the viewers decide. You have until July 6th,\u201d their campaign reads.<\/p>\n
