The United States is firing back after Iran claimed that it closed the Strait of Hormuz due to alleged ceasefire violations.<\/p>\n

Vice President JD Vance revealed on Fox News\u2019\u00a0\u2018Fox & Friends Weekend<\/em>\u2018 Saturday\u00a0that \u201c[w]e actually got 16 million barrels of oil out of the Straits of Hormuz yesterday. That is a record going back to even before the conflict started.\u201d<\/p>\n

But just when things start looking up, Iran allegedly slammed its iron fist back down on the Strait over claims of ceasefire violations.<\/p>\n

But United States Central Command (CENTCOM) posted an article on X<\/a> disputing the accuracy of those reports, claiming that operations are moving forward thanks to \u201cfreedom of navigation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cCommercial ship traffic in the Strait of Hormuz increased June 20 as U.S. forces continued operating in the general area to support freedom of navigation,\u201d they wrote. \u201cSafe passage through the international waterway remained intact today as 55 merchant ships transited, moving large amounts of cargo and more than 17 million barrels of oil to global markets.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Joint Maritime Information Center issued an advisory this week affirming safe passage for all vessels along a designated route that is free of arbitrary requirement claims or impediments,\u201d the statement continued. \u201cU.S. forces remain present and vigilant to ensure all aspects of the agreement with Iran are adhered to, obeyed, and in full force and effect.\u201d<\/p>\n
