Liberal comedian Bill Maher has beef with his own audience, calling them \u201ca bunch of f**king liars\u201d over the Obama library.<\/p>\n

The new Barack Obama Presidential Centre\u2019s eye-popping pricetag and high-priced tickets are enough to make anyone wonder if this is a historical library or a grift. Maher posed the question on his show, wondering if the $850 million spent on the Chicago project might have been used to fund something better.<\/p>\n

Bill Maher calls his own audience a \u201cbunch of f*cking liars\u201d after one question about the Obama library.<\/p>\n

It started when Maher rolled his eyes at Obama\u2019s library costing $850,000,000 to build just to serve his \u201cego.\u201d<\/p>\n

Couldn\u2019t that money be better spent on something else? Who\u2019s going to go to this? Why does anyone need a presidential library, these monuments to somebody\u2019s ego out of office? Anybody here in this audience planning to go to the Obama Presidential Library?\u201d<\/p>\n

A large amount of applause erupted from the audience, but Maher wasn\u2019t buying it.<\/p>\n

\u201cReally?! You\u2019re a bunch of f**king liars, you are. You\u2019re not going to the Obama library.\u201d<\/p>\n

A good point, considering the tickets alone<\/a> cost a pretty penny, to say nothing of travel costs in the current economy:<\/p>\n

He\u2019s right. Functionally, it\u2019s not a library, it\u2019s a shrine. And that\u2019s fine, but just call it what it is \u2013 people spent $850M to build a shrine to Obama (well, $725M because the government kicked in about $125M).<\/p>\n
