For all the bellyaching about President Donald J. Trump \u201cweaponizing\u201d the Justice Department against political enemies, the Democrats are preparing to do exactly that if they regain power.<\/p>\n

With a crowded field of candidates lining up to compete for the 2028 nomination, Democratic hopefuls will be looking to outdo each other with vows to mete out political retribution against the president and other top officials to appeal to their rabidly vengeful base.<\/p>\n

Failed presidential candidate Kamala Harris is now on record that if she is the chosen one and manages to get elected, she will target the Trump Justice Department officials.<\/p>\n

The former vice president appeared on disgraced ex-CNN host Don Lemon\u2019s podcast and previewed what she seems to think is the winning formula that will punch her ticket back to the White House.<\/p>\n

Don Lemon tells Kamala he thinks people in the Trump DOJ should \u201cface justice\u201d for going after \u201cpolitical rivals.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kamala agrees: \u201cI absolutely believe that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lemon: \u201cIf you are president in 2028, will you make sure that there\u2019s accountability?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not a politician, but I think that the people who deserve to be prosecuted or whatever it is, for misusing the Justice Department and abusing, I believe, American citizens and American politicians\u2026political rivals or whatever, I think that they should face some sort of Justice,\u201d Lemon said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, I absolutely believe that,\u201d Harris responded. \u201cAnd I believe that there should be \u2013 that there should be accountability,\u201d adding, \u201cespecially for people in the highest roles of power and authority.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThose who abuse their power and authority should be held accountable, and there should be consequence,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Lemon then popped the question. \u201cIf you are president, let\u2019s just say in 2028 you are elected, will you make sure there is accountability?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, I believe firmly in accountability,\u201d Harris answered, slightly chuckling. \u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n

It is a brazen example of hypocrisy coming from the second-highest-ranking member of an administration that wrote the playbook on weaponizing the DOJ, which was unleashed against Trump and his associates during their time in power.<\/p>\n

And it won\u2019t only be the DOJ either; Harris will unleash the federal law enforcement apparatus on Trump, who swept every single swing state against her in 2024, as a matter of petty revenge.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, Harris weighed in on fellow 2028 hopeful and current California Governor Gavin Newsom\u2019s overblown claim that Trump had put him and his wife on a \u201chit list\u201d and that he was under investigation by the Justice Department.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe told us most of what we would know would happen, including that he would go after his political enemies using the Department of Justice,\u201d she said during a panel discussion at the Austrian World Summit.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am not surprised that he may be using the Department of Justice to go after a political enemy in the current governor of California,\u201d the ex-veep added.<\/p>\n

While Newsom has been the frontrunner for 2028, Harris evidently has her sights set on the nomination, although, unlike 2024, this time it isn\u2019t just going to be handed to her on a silver platter without a primary process.<\/p>\n
