{"id":616935,"date":"2026-06-11T17:17:28","date_gmt":"2026-06-11T17:17:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/buglecall.org\/?p=616935"},"modified":"2026-06-11T17:17:28","modified_gmt":"2026-06-11T17:17:28","slug":"disney-cracks-down-after-cruise-passengers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buglecall.org\/?p=616935","title":{"rendered":"Disney cracks down after cruise passengers"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"630\" src=\"https:\/\/americanwirenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/SG-Disney-1200x630.jpg\" class=\"attachment-facebook size-facebook wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Disney is politely telling enthusiastic partygoers to tone it down a notch when it comes to personalized decorations.<\/p>\n<p>Decorating Disney cruise ship cabin doors has reportedly been a long-time tradition for travelers who are celebrating specific occasions.<\/p>\n<p>Colorful magnets and displays to mark milestones like birthdays, anniversaries, reunions and honeymoons can also serve a dual purpose, as the bland, identical doors in long hallways can be hard to distinguish without a marker.<\/p>\n<p>But the once-tasteful and fun marker has devolved for many into grandiose displays that swallow doors and even spill onto ceilings and hallways, Fox News Digital <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/travel\/major-cruise-line-limits-fan-favorite-trend-after-passengers-say-its-gotten-out-hand\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The growing trend prompted Disney to issue new guidelines for decorating doors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou are welcome to personalize your stateroom door with a tasteful magnetic sign for a celebration \u2014 or simply to add a touch of fun!\u201d the cruise line stated on the \u201cfrequently asked questions\u201d portion of its website, Fox reported.<\/p>\n<p>It added the caveat: \u201cdecorations should only be placed on doors and are not permitted on corridor walls or ceilings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Passengers who damage doors will be fined $100 per incident to cover repairs.<\/p>\n<p>Despite some guests pushing the limits, a Disney spokesperson told Fox News Digital that the tradition is here to stay.<\/p>\n<p>The new guidelines were welcomed by many Disney customers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI appreciate people\u2019s creativity, but only to a certain extent. The people who do full-blown displays, including a gallery wall of photos from prior cruises, are out of their minds,\u201d one guest said on Reddit. \u201cIt\u2019s getting out of hand and into fire hazard territory with some of these extensive displays,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI love to decorate the door, but on our last cruise \u2026 some of the decorations were so extensive they made the hallways an obstacle course,\u201d another cruiser said. \u201cIt was a nightmare with the wheelchair trying not to get caught on stuff,\u201d the person added.<\/p>\n<p>Elaborate and intrusive decorations can pose a fire threat, according to Royal Caribbean, which prohibits the use of personal decorations on doors and elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>While Carnival Cruise Line\u2019s website states \u201cdecorations may consist only of fire retardant materials\u201d \u2014 and adds that \u201cno string lights of any kind are allowed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/americanwirenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/SG-Disney-1200x630.jpg\" title=\"Disney cracks down after cruise passengers\" \/><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Disney is politely telling enthusiastic partygoers to tone it down a notch when it comes to personalized decorations.
