ESPN commentator and Sirius XM host Stephen A. Smith continued his ongoing feud with President Trump, telling him that his personal attacks aren\u2019t \u201cgonna work.\u201d<\/p>\n

The war of words began over Smith\u2019s harsh criticism of Trump\u2019s decision to attend the Game 3 Finals NY Knicks game, citing logistical nightmares and a distraction for the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis president has no business showing up in New York City,\u201d Smith said on Monday before the game. \u201cI am dead serious. It is selfish, it is narcissistic, it is ridiculous that he is coming to this game.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf it causes the New York Knicks to lose tonight, I\u2019m blaming him,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Trump fired back after the Knicks lost, taking a shot at rumors that Smith might someday run for president.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think he\u2019s a nice guy, but you need a certain aptitude to run for president,\u201d Trump said. \u201cYou need a high IQ. I\u2019m not sure that Stephen has that. I don\u2019t think he does actually.\u201d<\/p>\n

Smith appeared surprised by the personal insults, but was up for the challenge to prove he\u2019s not \u201clow IQ.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause I called them out for inconvenience in the momentum that we had built in route to entering game three for the NBA Finals, I\u2019m a fool,\u201d he said. \u201cHe actually called me arrogant. You, of all people, will call somebody arrogant? Really, Mr. President? That\u2019s where you\u2019re going?\u201d Smith said, according to Mediaite.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will not disrespect this man on a personal level. And I have to say this before I go where I\u2019m going. The president said I was a nice guy. I got to tell you something. He\u2019s always been nice to me. The first insult or cruel thing he said about me was in the quote on his post on his Truth Social platform,\u201d he said. \u201cOf all the years that I\u2019ve known Donald Trump, that\u2019s the first mean-spirited thing he\u2019s ever done to me personally.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Smith was just getting started and challenged Trump to a debate.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou think those one-liners are gonna work? You got another thing coming\u2026 Debate? I do that every day. Every day. You really, really think being on a stage against me would be comparable to you being on a stage with Joe Biden?\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou really think that would be me, Mr. President? You sure about that? Name the time and place, and I\u2019ll show up,\u201d Smith continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause you see, Mr. President, I don\u2019t have a record when it comes to issues. You do. I must ask you, sir, is inflation heating up again? I think it is. Didn\u2019t you promise us it wouldn\u2019t? Are gas prices painfully high? I think it is. Didn\u2019t you say you didn\u2019t care? The war in Iran is dragging on over 100 days. Didn\u2019t you say we weren\u2019t in a war before you said we weren\u2019t in a war? Before you said it would be over, before we realized it\u2019s not over. Isn\u2019t the Straight of Hormuz still closed? Aren\u2019t drones still being blown out of the sky because Iran are sending drones to ships to try to go through? Didn\u2019t that stuff happen? How about Russia and Ukraine? Didn\u2019t you say you would end that in a day? Isn\u2019t that still going on?\u201d<\/p>\n
