Nancy Mace claimed voters are \u201cvery upset\u201d that President Donald Trump endorsed her opponent.<\/p>\n<p>The South Carolina lawmaker and gubernatorial candidate told Fox News Digital ahead of Tuesday\u2019s primary that the endorsement did little to boost South Carolina Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette and her standing in the race. Mace also speculated that her own support of releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files may have contributed to Trump\u2019s decision not to back her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not going over well for her with the grassroots, which is why she didn\u2019t get much of a bump,\u201d Mace said. \u201cShe got maybe a five-point bump \u2014 not much.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Watch the latest video at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/\">foxnews.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>(Video Credit: Fox News)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd she\u2019s going to be in a runoff, and I think at that point all bets are off,\u201d Mace said of Evette, who could potentially be the successor of South Carolina\u2019s term-limited Governor Henry McMaster.<\/p>\n<p>Evette and Mace are in a race against Attorney General Alan Wilson, Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC), and businessman Rom Reddy as Tuesday\u2019s primary draws near. Citing a poll by the Trafalgar Group, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/elections\/2026\/06\/08\/nancy-mace-trump-south-carolina-governor-republican-primary\/90409346007\/\">USA Today<\/a> reported Monday: \u201cIn a survey conducted June 2-4, Evette was holding a 26.3% lead while none of her competitors raked in more than 18%.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPam Evette is a good friend, fighter, and WINNER, and will be a terrific Governor of South Carolina,\u201d Trump posted just days earlier without any mention of Mace. \u201cPam has my Complete and Total Endorsement \u2014 SHE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI disagree with this endorsement,\u201d Mace said. \u201cAnd I\u2019m going to vote for myself. I\u2019m asking voters in South Carolina to vote for me as well on Tuesday.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She also described the race as a \u201cdog fight,\u201d adding, \u201cWe\u2019re in it, and I\u2019m gonna fight to the death.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The three-term representative was one of four Republicans who signed a petition to force a House vote on the Epstein Files Transparency Act, along with Thomas Massie of Kentucky, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, and Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia.
