The first day of Karmelo Anthony\u2019s trial began this Thursday with dueling parties based almost entirely on race verbally duking it out just outside the courthouse in McKinney, Texas.<\/p>\n

Anthony is the then-17-year-old black teen who fatally stabbed fellow 17-year-old white teen Austin Metcalf to death during a dispute that occurred on April 2, 2025, at a track meet in Frisco.<\/p>\n

Anthony\u2019s nearly all-black supporters barraged his detractors with racist verbal attacks as they waited Thursday for the trial to begin.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou gon end up like Metcalf \u2014 you gone be pushing up daisies,\u201d a black woman said in the top-right video below, recorded by Savannah Hernandez of Turning Point USA:<\/p>\n

One of the most shocking things I witnessed today was this woman in pink screaming \u201cyou gon end up like Metcalf, you gone be pushing up daisies\u201d.<\/p>\n

I caught the tail end of her saying this to Metcalf supporters in the clip below.<\/p>\n

\u201cImma push you if I get close enough \u2014 push you right into that grave,\u201d one male black Anthony supporter yelled<\/a> at the suspect\u2019s detractors. \u201cYou heard what I said, cracker. I don\u2019t give a f\u2013k what you say. F\u2013k you, cracker.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe only good cracker is a dead cracker,\u201d the same unhinged black man later added<\/a> right in front of a police officer.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, inside the courthouse, Frisco track and football coach Robert Starr grew emotional as he recalled the aftermath of the stabbing incident.<\/p>\n

The incident happened inside a Memorial High School tent at the David Kuykendall Stadium on April 2, 2025.\u00a0It was witnessed by Metcalf\u2019s brother, Hunter, who later recalled confronting Anthony after he and his brother had spotted him standing near their team tent, only for Anthony to snap.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy brother stepped in. He started being how he always is. We\u2019re just brothers, just having my back,\u201d Hunter recalled to Fox News<\/a> last year. \u201cThings started getting more, like, higher intensity, and the kid said some, like, aggressive stuff \u2014 like, reckless stuff \u2014 and Austin tried to handle the problem.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI whipped my head around, and then all of a sudden I see him running down the bleachers just grabbing his chest\u2026 I put my hand on there, tried to make it [the bleeding] stop, and I grabbed his head, and I looked in his eyes. I just saw his soul leave, and it took my soul, too,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Anthony\u2019s defenders now argue that he was in the right to snap and strike Metcalf with a knife because Metcalf had put his arms on him. His detractors, meanwhile, maintain that Metcalf never did anything to justify being stabbed.<\/p>\n

According to Starr, the coach, he saw \u201ccommotion\u201d by the team\u2019s tent and made his way over, only to find Metcalf on the ground bleeding to death, as reported by station KXAS<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI see Austin on the ground, and his face is purple, and he has a big hole in his chest,\u201d Starr said as he reportedly sobbed.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Starr saw Hunter say \u201cdo something\u201d while pointing to Anthony, so he made his way over to the black teen and told him to stay put. In response, Anthony allegedly put his hands on him.<\/p>\n

\u201cStarr told the jury that he got upset and that Anthony\u2019s coaches told Starr to leave, but later said they did not know Starr was a coach,\u201d according to KXAS.<\/p>\n

Starr then returned to the stands, where he found everybody praying, including Hunter. Starr then walked up to Hunter, and the two knelt and prayed.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just knew Austin was gone,\u201d the coach recalled.<\/p>\n

In his opening statements, Collin County prosecutor Bill Wirskye argued that Anthony had started and provoked the confrontation that led to Metcalf\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe used a hidden knife, opened in his hand, plunged into Austin Metcalf\u2019s chest, causing his death, and then ran away,\u201d Wirskye said in court, according to station KDFW<\/a>.<\/p>\n
