The surprise resignation of Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard to focus on supporting her husband, who is battling cancer, was met by the typical smears and conspiracy theories from the media.<\/p>\n

On Friday, the nation\u2019s top intelligence official shared her letter to President Donald J. Trump informing him that she would be leaving her position after Abraham Williams\u2019 recent diagnosis with a rare form of bone cancer: \u201cI must step away from public service to be by his side and fully support him through this battle,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

Even though Gabbard clearly communicated the reason for her departure, the scandal mongers at Reuters ran with a headline based on info from the usual anonymous sources to report that she \u201chad been forced out by the White House,\u201d a claim that was rejected by the DNI\u2019s chief of staff, Alexa Henning, as more of the same media garbage.<\/p>\n

Reuters changed the headline to \u201cGabbard resigns as Trump\u2019s top US intelligence official,\u201d but the report itself still said that \u201cShe was pushed out by the White House,\u201d quoting an unnamed source that \u201cThe White House has been unhappy with \u200bher for quite some time.\u201d<\/p>\n

If the White House was \u201cunhappy\u201d with Gabbard, it wasn\u2019t apparent from her boss\u2019s words with Trump praising her for doing a \u201cgreat job\u201d in a Truth Social post acknowledging the news.<\/p>\n
