As is well known,<strong> socialists\u00a0portray\u00a0billionaires as a &#8220;policy mistake.&#8221; <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Extrapolating from that, they must consider the potential coming of<strong> trillionaires as a policy catastrophe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/snsd8luooqyp42bujqyg_640.jpg?itok=5Si-A6Lw\" data-link-option=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/snsd8luooqyp42bujqyg_640.jpg?itok=5Si-A6Lw\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"53a1b9c5-5c84-4a51-b11b-586d56d0acdd\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" height=\"500\" width=\"500\" class=\"inline-images image-style-inline-images\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/snsd8luooqyp42bujqyg_640.jpg?itok=5Si-A6Lw\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>The first man likely to reach that lofty target &#8212; if his companies meet stringent performance objectives &#8212; is Elon Musk. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At first blush, that seems exorbitant, but let\u2019s run some numbers.<\/p>\n<p>Musk heads several remarkable companies, but for this exercise, we\u2019ll focus on Tesla, which was founded in 2003.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sqmagazine.co.uk\/how-many-people-work-at-tesla\/\">Tesla\u2019s current headcount<\/a>\u00a0is about 125,000 (give or take).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrotrends.net\/stocks\/charts\/TSLA\/tesla\/number-of-employees\">Average headcount<\/a>\u00a0(hard to calculate due to extreme scaling) over its lifespan is approximately 51,000.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.payscale.com\/research\/US\/Employer=Tesla_Motors\/Salary\">Average salary<\/a>\u00a0(excluding bonuses and benefits) is also approximate, at about $100,000 per annum.<\/p>\n<p>So, 23 (years in existence) * 51000 (average headcount) * 100,000 (estimated avg. salary, per above link) equals $117,300,000,000.<\/p>\n<p><strong>That\u2019s over 117 billion dollars paid to\u00a0<em>direct<\/em>\u00a0Tesla employees over its lifespan &#8212; again, that excludes all the other benefits that may accrue<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Remember, this is before ramping up production of Tesla\u2019s Optimus robots that will become the predominant contributor to revenue (and productivity gains that will benefit society at large).<\/p>\n<p><strong>It is estimated that Tesla alone\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cleantechnica.com\/2022\/05\/05\/tesla-is-now-providing-over-600000-jobs\/\">supports over 600,000 jobs<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(think supply chain and contractor jobs).<\/p>\n<p><strong>So let\u2019s consider their larger impact on growing societal wealth. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s tricky to determine the average salary of such positions, but let\u2019s go with a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.indeed.com\/cmp\/Tesla\/salaries\/Support-Advisor?period=YEARLY\">conservative $60,000 per annum<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the calculation: 23 (years in business) * 600,000 (jobs tied to Tesla) * 60,000 (approx. salary) equals $828,000,000,000.<\/p>\n<p><strong>That\u2019s over eight hundred billion,<\/strong> by golly (combine that with the above, and you&#8217;re teetering on one trillion).<\/p>\n<p>Admittedly, these are imprecise estimates (maybe underestimates), but the point is clear: <em><strong>Tesla alone has generated enormous payrolls for direct and indirect employees combined, and the future looks brighter still.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>In fact, Tesla is inexorably becoming much\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/tesla-just-made-it-clear-its-no-longer-a-car-company-181935814.html\">more than a car company<\/a>: there are all-important data repositories, AI, energy, autonomous driving, and robots. Indeed, if Musk hits the pay targets that may catapult him to trillionaire status, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.barrons.com\/articles\/tesla-stock-price-musk-pay-10-years-19161cfe\">estimated market cap of Tesla<\/a>\u00a0will be around 8.5 trillion dollars.<\/p>\n<p><strong>That\u2019s Tesla, but there\u2019s also Neuralink, the Boring Company (tunneling, etc.), X, and xAI. Oh yeah\u2026 then there is SpaceX,<\/strong> which currently employs thousands of dedicated full-time workers worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>Its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/05\/20\/spacex-ipo-live-updates.html\">Initial Public Offering<\/a>\u00a0is gearing up, with an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2026\/05\/20\/nx-s1-5812731\/elon-musk-spacex-ai-ipo\">anticipated value<\/a>\u00a0of well over $1 trillion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The socialist politicians propagating envy will have hysterical fits over that.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Speaking of whom, Obama once mused that at some point a businessman has \u201cearned enough,\u201d and that is well below a billion dollars.
