{"id":605324,"date":"2026-05-21T11:47:27","date_gmt":"2026-05-21T11:47:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/buglecall.org\/?p=605324"},"modified":"2026-05-21T11:47:27","modified_gmt":"2026-05-21T11:47:27","slug":"former-prosecutor-allegedly-emailed-herself-jack-smith-classified-report-under-fake-cake-recipe-names-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buglecall.org\/?p=605324","title":{"rendered":"Former prosecutor allegedly emailed herself Jack Smith classified report under fake cake recipe names"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"630\" src=\"https:\/\/americanwirenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/sg-jack-smith-1200x630.jpg\" class=\"attachment-facebook size-facebook wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/div>\n<p>A former federal prosecutor has been indicted by the Trump administration for reportedly emailing herself confidential Department of Justice (DOJ) records.<\/p>\n<p>Carmen Mercedes Lineberger, a former managing assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of Florida, allegedly emailed herself key files from former Special Counsel Jack Smith\u2019s final report on President Donald Trump, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/former-doj-prosecutor-charged-stealing-confidential-jack-smith-investigation-documents-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>She originally got away with it by disguising the files as cake recipes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProsecutors alleged Lineberger concealed her actions by saving electronic copies of government records under misleading file names, including \u2018chocolate cake recipe\u2019 and \u2018bundt cake recipe,\u2019 before sending them to personal Hotmail accounts,\u201d Fox News notes.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Former federal prosecutor Carmen Lineberger was indicted yesterday for theft.<\/p>\n<p>She allegedly emailed herself copies of the Jack Smith\u2019s classified docs case report, under covert names such as \u201cchocolate cake recipe\u201d and \u201cbundt cake recipie\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>She faces up to 24 years in prison. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/6esbez8Ha3\">pic.twitter.com\/6esbez8Ha3<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Rogue POTUS Staff (@RoguePOTUSStaff) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RoguePOTUSStaff\/status\/2057231023646106090?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 20, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The files she targeted pertained specifically to Smith\u2019s investigation into President Trump over his alleged mishandling of classified national security documents.<\/p>\n<p>In December, Smith testified to Congress that his office had \u201cdeveloped proof beyond a reasonable doubt that President Trump \u2026 willfully retained highly classified documents after he left office in January of 2021, storing them at his social club, including in a ballroom and a bathroom,\u201d and that Trump also \u201crepeatedly tried to obstruct justice to conceal his continued retention of those documents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The files containing the \u201cproof\u201d were plucked from Volume II of Smith\u2019s final report, which federal Judge Aileen Cannon blocked the release of last year.
